If they don't get a second peak why shouldn't we reopen ours?

Paris has opened its restaurants..but this has been limited to those with external seating and a min of 1m between seats, better cleaning regimes and hand sanitiser everywhere....most of europe has a 1m distancing rule the uk a 2m rule..

I saw a news item a whle back that said that because of the economic impact of social distancing, something like 30 % of northern Italy's restaurants will not survive ...

The other day my colleague and I were in the mood for some hot food. I immediately said "I dont care where we go, as long as we get a seat". I was quickly reminded this probably wont happen.

I cant believe how much of eating is also centred around sitting together. I miss life haha

Look at the queues for McDonald's, take a deep breath and check if you need to ask that question

Probably because they know how many active cases they have while we have no idea because our testing and tracing is a joke.

Also remember they (and other EU countries) are ahead of us on the curve so restrictions may lift earlier, much like Brazil is behind and seeing how numbers can increase dramatically.

Hahaha, the shite is cheaper, so you will still have longer queues going for it even after the real food becomes available.

Is it? Could get a Sunday Roast for less than a McDonald's before all of this.

France were ahead of the UK, so it stands to sense that they and others will relax before the UK

Had a lovely meal at a restaurant here in Paris a couple of nights ago. No drama. The French seem much better at 'deconfinement' than the UK. Nobody is moaning about too fast or too slow, they just making the most of the new freedoms. I also had a haircut at the barbers last week, and a nice cold beer on the terrace outside a bar in 29c weather.
