People were jumping off the arch and TWO helicopters had to come to seriously injured people. Beach was packed so they were all forced to get even closer to allow the helicopters to land. Search durdle door for the images |

It's the same here in the peak district so many tourists it's so busy already been a massive fire in woodland near to a moorland due to tourists having a fire. |

Live fairly close to Durdle Door and have seen via social media that even after the events of yesterday car parks were full and overflow car parks opened. Its the greed of the local estate as well as the pathetic attempts for civilised humans visiting that will lead to further restrictions. Total fuck nuggets. The people rescued yesterday should be billed for the call out of the rescue chopper. Rant over. |

Yes close the beaches off.
The coastguard are having to put themselves and others at risk of covid to rescue some idiots, plus other people who may need rescuing through no fault of their own like mariners, people who work / live remotely

Let's be honest most people are on long holiday paid at least 80% by the government. Also what are the rules anymore? Be alert? I went to a beach today in Devon and had a great day.
The car park was full but my experience today was that everyone was respectful of one another and if walking along the beach or swimming in the sea everybody kept their distance.
The things that help this particular beach is that its very long, so easy to social distance. There is a wide footpath to the beach, the estate owners had painted yellow lines and arrows so easy to follow. The he cafe had a one way system in one door, order, out another door and collet food.
So no beaches shouldn't be closed, I believe they are vital for the well being of us. |

The Weston-Super-Mare hospital closure was due to one or 2 staff contracting Covid, lots self isolating as a result and hence lack of staff to run the hospital |

I find this comment pretty extreme - historically we, as a country, have climbed so many political mountains based on the very fact that we refuse to respect the law. I’m not agreeing with those people jumping off cliffs and all the rest of it. They really taking the piss. But to suggest the army intervention?? For being disobedient?! What if the law suddenly decided that TV/TS was not “following the science”? Would you be okay with heavy fines and army intervention in that case? |

An area of outstanding natural beauty a world heritage site and people treat it like a rubbish tip.
They should permanently close it and only allow access for research and studies.

All these people who flock to the beaches etc are they the same we are moaning about sending there kids back to school or saying they don’t feel safe going back to work , yet feel safe enough to go to a packed beach or wait outside McDonald’s or Ikea ? |
