Sex Workers Can Get Back to Business in Switzerland, But Sports Remain Prohibited.
Prostitution is legal in Switzerland and can resume from June 6, along with cinemas, nightclubs and public pools, the government announced this week. Yet sports and activities that involve “close and constant” physical contact will continue to be forbidden in an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

As reported in one comic:
The country’s government placed a temporary ban on prostitution on March 16 as a precautionary measure against the pandemic. Eager to get back into business, the industry has suggested limiting customers to ‘doggy style’ and ‘reverse cowgirl’ would allow for enough distance between faces. Other measures suggested by sex workers’ rights group ProKoRe include rooms being ventilated for at least 15 minutes after every customer to limit the spread of Covid-19 and washing bed sheets and hand towels at at least 60 degrees at all times. The group also recommends disinfectant, gloves, condoms to be provided at all brothels, for sessions to be limited to 15 minutes, and for sex workers to wear mouth and nose coverings at all times. They advise against touching any personal belongings of customers and kissing will be discouraged, although this was already rare in Swiss brothels before lockdown.
I remember a comedy film years ago that showed safe sex as a head to toe condom, sounds a bit more natural than this

Im sure its more a case of wealthy Swiss brothel owners eager to get back to exploiting poor Romanian woman for the entertainment of male Swiss politicians...Dont know why everyone always has to bring sport into it. |

There must be a few Federal Councillors with a lot of pent up sexual energy needing some services. The ladies themselves could have some powerfully persuasive evidence to help push along their agenda. Let's face it, why make up a load of rules to help keep people safe when those rules don't apply to the rule makers anyway. |

I'm assuming that escorts are generally hired for 1 on 1 meetings, which means fewer people together than 2 sports teams.
Escorts are also needing to keep themselves and their families housed and fed, unlike amateur sports people who have other exercise options and earn their income elsewhere.
Governments must take responsibility for their citizens wellbeing, which includes both health and their income etc.
There's no reason why escorts health can't be monitored, to keep them healthy and tested etc. Their clients could also be subject to testing and temperature checks, to help to mitigate potential harm.
Sex work is also legal in the UK. Brothels aren't permitted. It's better for the state to be open and inclusive in its policies. |
