Saw that, announced shortly after the Durham police commissioner formally asked their police chief to establish the facts around the issue.

he will excuse the visit to his parents/sister in Durham... will not take any questions about "barnard castle" but will admit it happened...

this has been forced on him because durham police are investigating the daytrip to barney with his wife on her birthday.....

i am betting that he is thinking if he gets in front of the barney story then durham won't charge him

I will give you the conversation between them on sunday.

Boris; OK dom, tell me why I can't sack you.

Dom; I've done nothing to break the rules

Boris; Are you sure. Looks like you have to me.

Dom; I wrote the rules and because I have an special needs child know that what I did is within the rules. You cannot sack me. If you do I will take the government to an industrial tribunal and I will win. You cannot sack me for this and I will not resign.

Boris; OK what do we do to limit damage. I will take podium as this looks a bit serious.

Dom; Say nothing. We can take some scalps here. The opposition will jump on the bandwagon. We do not have to say anything. My son has rights here too and I do not want you to out him as special needs. We have a right to privacy here.

Boris; OK mate. This is going to be tough for me but I am a tough guy and will put the opposition to the sword when I get the chance. It'll leak out anyway about your son and in a few days time they will be grovelling apologies if they have any sense.

No it’s not what I take from it but the guy is in the public eye and he has a Senior role in British politics. On top of being out of order and a complete idiot, I find his lack of respect for the public and the institution that Downing Street is quite revolting.

It’s not the be most revolting part of this story but his arrogance, demeanour and his general appearance in what is the heart of British politics are quite despicable.

Tbh it's a bit of a circus. Distracting from true news.

How about the relevant Police forces investigate And fine if relevant. If not explain why not, if GDPR. Permits and then move on.

As an advisor he's just an employee not elected and there fore technically his private life should remain as such.

And for all those politically motivated from what other parties their advisors are just as entitled to privacy.

That's true though worth noting that sturgen refused to sack her medical officer and defended her at their press conference. She resigned the next day.

I expected D.C. to have done the same and returned at a later date.

Lots of people did get outraged at the time but if you're going to make comparisons:

1 Kinnock wasn't infected, so wasn't self isolating

2 Kinnock didn't write the policy breached

3 Kinnock isn't an advisor to his leader

4 Kinnock didn't hide it, he put it on Instagram

5 Kinnock didn't do it twice (3 times?)

6 Kinnock's friends didn't say it was OK for him to break the law, just not everyone else

7 When Kinnock did it, two senior govt advisors in the UK hadn't already had to resign for the same offence

8 Kinnock's wife didn't write an article in then magazine she edits, inferring they were in London, and further deceiving the public

9 Kinnock wasn't required to inform the Number 10 of his whereabouts, so either lied to them or there's a bigger cover-up

10 At the time Kinnock visited his parents, the PM hadn't gone on TV and said "You should not be meeting family members who do not live in your home"

Yes, Kinnock shouldn't have done it but no, the two cases are not the same.

If someone tells you to resign what is the ultimate outcome? You lose your job, if you are sacked what is the ultimate outcome? You lose your job. I am not defending Sturgeon as I don’t particularly like her but I think the request to sack/forced to resign Cummings is basically the same thing

Yes, Kinnock shouldn't have done it but no, the two cases are not the same."

Also kinnock said he was delivering shopping which is allowed and is local. He put a picture of them distancing and many many people who are delivering food and care have stayed briefly. He also held his hands up straight away.

I personally dont think delivering food to your local elderly parents on their birthday is the same thing as travelling the length of the country at least twice while symptomatic.

Yeah, what happened to her chief medical officer in the end? she resigned, that doesnt take away the fact that she didnt sack her but is calling for boris to do exactly that couldnt make it up.

She was technically ‘sacked’ , people very rarely resign unless they have to Whats technically sacked So why is she not asking boris to get him to resign instead of asking him to sack him.Even a blind man can see how hypocritical that is.

If a PM/FM says "I've accepted their resignation" it wasn't a resignation.how do you work that out. "

He broke the rules the chief medical officer in Scotland who also did was forced to resign he is no different.

The way I now see it if he stays all the money taken from those who were fined should be given back.

He needs to stop using his child’s diagnosis as an excuse for his behaviour his child didn’t break rules he did and for every action there is a consequence.

For political journalists that's their job to highlight and scrutinise the behaviour of elected members!

Do you think any of the political scandals that have led to increased transparency and improved standards in Westminster would have been highlighted if journalists hadn't investigated them? Eg MPs expenses? Cyril Smith, Watergate, Mandelsohn, Chris Huhne, Profumo etc etc etc
