near a big hill in s/ shropshire NOT in

I have a quick question if anyone knows for definite, I've been seeing people eating outside fish and chip shops and the café, I thought this was against the lockdown rules, as I read that any outside seating had to be removed or made unable to sit at ,, is anyone got a definitive answer cheers

How about not using the outside seating if you think it is dangerous but leaving those who are happy to use it carry on?

I am sure it is fine so long as social distancing rules are adhered to. I guess you may be asking as you have a business that could re open if you can do this?

I've been watching a chip shop near me , been 18 outside and just leaving and the proprietors haven't even came and cleaned the table once but I also thought you were unable to sit outside the premises to eat food purchased from there ,, crazy imo

Well he said lunch could be eaten at parks etc. If you can sit on a field and eat then don't see the issue with outside seating. The benches outside our local chippy has "2 metre" distance signs on it.

The law says that to limit spread of the virus takeaways are required to:

Removing any internal or external seating, even for those waiting for their order.

Does the outside seating belong to the premises?

There is a chipshop we know that has council seating and benches in the general vacinity.

I think we should get a grip here and stop becoming a nation of stasi type informers which is what some people want us to become.

If you are opening as a take away the food has to be eaten off site. All outdoor furniture cannot be used

Nothing stops the physical distancing rule, except for people who you live with. Walking, shopping, eating, exercise, it's all to be subject to 2m distance. If people do this, then they are adhering.

I can see where this is confusing. This relates directly to premisis that use thier own outdoor seating.

I think someone commented above, some areas like my town square have fixed benches and seating that does not belong to premises selling the food.

If I knew where you said it, I’d most likely have read it the first time!

But thanks for the clarification

It is against 'advice' but police have already said they have no powers to enforce 2m distancing.

Grab ya chips and head for the car..
