About 4,500 tested, and we’ve been out of lockdown about 10 days now. Yes we can visit other houses, social distancing recommended inside peoples homes and no more that two people inside at a time. |

Yes we’ve been very lucky but we did strict lockdown and high penalties for breaches. It was a hard 8 weeks but it’s paid off. |

We haven’t got the same phased system as the UK, but we’re even thinking about team sports starting again next weekend. Restaurants are open for outside service, hairdressers and beauticians open on 1 June. The two major things to happen after that are the pubs opening then the borders, but we are waiting for the infection rate to fall in the UK before the borders open.
It’s pretty much life as normal here now, social distancing applies but people are being sensible about it. |

Brilliant Job done by all the Manx people who followed the rules. Our experience over the years are 99% of the people who live on the Rock are amazing folk. We'd move over if we ever get our shit together |

Let's be honest it's not completely life as normal is it?
No dentist services operating, no hairdressing or barber shops open till June 1st, plenty of other shops still not open.
Also not allowed to share cars with non family members and the emergency 40mph all island speed limit is still in place. |

As I noted earlier, 1st June for hairdressers and beauticians. Social distancing still in place, as also noted earlier. 40 mph speed limit will be removed soon. Most shops are now open, only some UK owned chains not open such as TK Maxx.
I’m sorry but we are in a much better position than the UK, we have 9 active cases and no new reported cases since last Wednesday. Not sure how much more you want considering the circumstances.
So yes it is getting back to normal, I’d rather be here than the UK. |

Don't get us wrong, we agree with you that things are improving. Personally though we just feel that there is still quite a way to go till normal life has truly returned. |

The current Ro rate in the IOM is around .2 -.3...the borders will def not open until UK figures are the same or less. Rocket man what you say is pretty well accurate.. but maybe just a bit over zealous?? |

Excellent Rocketman..... with 7 days x 0 positives, just 6 ongoing active cases (about to finish), and an R value of .1, Despite an earlier (idiotic) post,I suggest Chief Minister and Mr Ashford should now go to UK and sort their problems out. BJ should be in prison and DC should stand criminal trial
Well don mate....and keep your borders closed until rest of UK have sorted themselves out!! |

"Thank you, it’s looking even better today... they’re talking about opening the pubs at the end of June!
How much are flights lol - not been for about 4 years."
That’s the last part is getting the borders open. When we do, please make the trip |

"No active cases, no new cases for 18 days, pubs open for food on Monday and for drinkers on 29 June!
Isle of Man instead of Ibiza it is then
As soon as our borders open "
Better to keep your borders closed, you've managed to eradicate the plague from your shores, last thing you need is a load of virus ridden English coming and coughing all over your island. |

In an ideal world that would be great, but some of us rely on visitors so it’s a very tough time. |

Yeah, stuck between a rock and a hard place. The cost of the virus though must be far more than the income from the tourists, i fear that many holiday destinations that managed to avoid the worst by early controls will find this if they open up too soon to visitors from places that failed to control it.
Does IoM get much tourist trade from RoI? I think that their statistics are a lot better than England's, opening up from the Ireland side while keeping the English side closed might be a manageable compromise for this summer? |

Whilst I congratulate the Isle of Man, A little Island in the Irish sea it's very hard to see how you compare a multi cultural Island like the UK with the IOM in it's dealing with Corona virus. I mean come on. there's nearly 70 million of us, loads of airports and stuff going on all the time, us doing our thing compared to 85,000 to control and make sure they are all doing lockdown correctly.
I think it's taking the piss a little to suggest we should have been like the Isle of man. |

There is no way we could be like Isle of Man as they respect each other. The UK's majority don't even respect themselves never mind their fellow man/woman. We have been visiting the Island for over 20 years and still blown away by the acts of kindness by the people who live there. It's an amazing place with amazing people |

"Social distancing abolished from Monday on the Isle of Man!
Great news, we heard pubs are opening too. "
Social distancing will still be required in care homes and health facilities.
Pubs open Monday provided food is served, open as normal from the 29th apparently. |

I would second that!! Worked on IOM for 6 months back in 2001 and still keep in touch with a few people from there. I like to get back when I can and was looking at accommodation for next easter with my son just last night |
