No. We put it away, wash our hands and wipe the fridge and cupboard handles and doors with disinfectant. We try not to unwrap as much as possible and anything we can't we leave for 72 hours before we touch it again. Any other deliveries get opened with special gloves lol which are then disinfected.

Yes don't be ridiculous why wouldn't you we have done this from the Start and still alive.

Everything that comes into house from the outside world gets cleaned.

And yes we both work and have done all way through.

She's a nurse and I have to work in many various locations one of which are care homes, so not only are we thinking about ourselves when cleaning stuff we also consider what we could take with us.

So not only is it good practice it's good manners.

I've been using a cloth which I dipped in bleach and some things I wash under the tap with soap or whatever else I can get my hands on. Somtimes I spray them with Dettol spray and whipe them over.

I also spray my hands with Dettol before and after going into the shop. It dries very quickly.

Interesting reading which lead me to read more on studies and reports.

We did our main shop just before lockdown and only been ‘topping up’ stuff So it’s not a major issue and not too concerned. Washing hands is just normal, same with washing hands/food when preparing dinner, before cooking or eating without cooking. We haven’t been leaving the house much either which suits me just fine.

One read I did on clothes made me laugh so thought I’d share:

If you suspect contamination, take off your clothes as soon you can after the exposure. If the exposure occurred in a grocery store, do not do this immediately, as this may cause additional problems. Instead, wait until you are actually in a position to legally take off your clothes, such as when you reach your home.

Yup, all shopping disinfected before being put away. Cloth shopping bags popped in the wash. Shoes sprayed and left on step. Clothes in wash. Shower and wash hair. I also take wipes to clean the trolley with at the shop and antibac my hands if I use the veggie scales

Parcels and post are left before I open them.

Maybe OTT, but it makes me more comfortable.

Unpack ahopping from bags in porch after taking shoes off and washing hands.

Clothes in washer then final handwash.

Same with going to bin.

I don't think there will ever be a vaccine and 80% of us will have to get it some way or another. I don't think my local Lidl poses much of a risk, I'm more likely to die of a heart attack from the extra walking due to the one way system in Tesco!

Besides I like being ill. I spent a month in hospital a while back (10 day of it on CPAP) and it was the best sleep I'd had in ages.

Same for my mail.

I know the virus can live up to 3 days but 12 hours is in most cases enough.

Someone mentioned gloves being useless.

- only if you don't use them right. I put them on before going into the supermarket and take them off when I leave thereby leaving my car virus free. I think the trouble is that some people keep them on all the time.

From the start of C19 everything that comes into my home is cleaned (food, bottles, plastic carrier bags, deliveries, letters, plastics or paper). All wiped over with bleach spray on a sponge. Plastics bags, rucksacks, general kit the same & hung outside in the sun. Letterbox inwards is wiped over with bleach (door handles, light switches etc) whatever I've touched upon entering my home. Hands washed on a loop. Upon leaving work, my clothing changed totally, work clothing direct into a bag, direct into the washing machine with said bag! Upon entering my car from work, steering wheel, handle, gear stick, handbrake wiped with anti bac. It's completed daily, takes minutes and I'm so used to it now. It's normal. (I'm a critical worker so that is why we are so strict with ourselves).

Yep, multipack items get the outer packaging removed, everything else gets wiped before putting away then the sides wiped, things that cant get wiped get left 72 hours in a box in the garage,

Overly cautious maybe, but would rather spend 5 minutes wiping down items than have a loved one catch the virus.

No, I don't even wash my hands after shopping. My boss went to China on business for 10 days in early Jan. Everyone in our department suffered from various covid symptoms for over a month after his return. I'm pretty sure I have had it. If I haven't had it, I'm putting it down to copious amounts of strong tea and Benson and Hedges.

There's no guarantee that your cheap wipes/spray will kill the virus on the surface, and observing most people, they are practicing bad habits (eg. Wearing gloves and mask but still just their phones.... Or Spray the trolley them pass the bottle onto next customer)

If you're really that paranoid, grow your own veg.
