Have anyone heard of this???
Trump mentioned this as a cure couple of weeks ago.
Funny how France, Russia, China and America are using this treatment with great success.
But yet no mention of this is this country. Research it and find out for yourself |

They are not! The french study was totally flawed as it didn’t count the people who didn’t finish the trial!
Guess why they didn’t finish! The Russians are lieing about deaths, treatment, DRS falling out of windows, exploding ventilators etc! They would rather have 5 deaths listed as from fire than Covid19, the Chinese have been lieing from the start and even Trumps own medical advisors have told him it doesn’t work! |

Yes it’s a very common and cheap anti-malarial. I use a form called Paraguil it’s about $5 for 2 weeks supply in Lagos.
When this first came to light about 2 months ago, stocks in the US and Nigeria ran dry and it was dismissed as fake.
Now the UK has recently bought up stocks here and it testing it. Lots of anecdotal evidence seems to suggest it works. |

Wikipedia says:
"Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), sold under the brand name Plaquenil among others, is a medication used to prevent and treat malaria in areas where malaria remains sensitive to chloroquine. Other uses include treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and porphyria cutanea tarda. It is also being studied as a treatment for COVID-19. |

Nhs is trialing it in combination with an antibiotic. Results from other proper trials haven't been good, generally no benefit. It is still worth trailing, it is cheap and easy to make. However the side effects can be pretty nasty so needs to be trialed and if any good targeted carefully. |

They are pushing the remdesivir because it's a lot more expensive, from gilead, and more money can be made. |

actually Remdesivir was developed as a potential ebola drug but was found not to actually help in the clinical trials....
so it was more of a case of trying all the different drugs they had on their records they had that had already been found safe for humans, just to see if they had a ready made drug they already had rather than having to go out and develop one, which is obviously expensive and time consuming |

Actually Remedesivir isn’t being “pushed” at all, the ACTT study is currently not open to further recruitment and has not shown any real promise.
The REMAP-CAP and RECOVERY studies have now commenced in which Toclizumab will be used in conjunction with Hydroxychloroquine and an unnamed anti-retroviral.
There seems to be a lot of misinformation on here, I understand as not everyone works in the field but I assure you most viable treatment options are currently going through clinical trials as we speak.

The american trial for remdesivir was partially successful. It cut the recover time of moderately ill covid patients, but further studies were binned due to access problems. Meaning it was either too expensive or more likely it couldn't be manufactured in sufficient quantities. |

Umm given the HUGE list of side effects of this particular drug it’s not really a viable option long term.
And I’d take any figures that come out of China or Russia with a nice big pinch of salt. |

It isn’t the same drug as Hydroxychloroquine but if you are referring to anti-malarial drugs in general then I personally wouldn’t be worried. The side effects are limited and it isn’t contra-indicated unless renal impairment is an issue.
In terms of Hydroxychloroquine being ineffective that really is still not an assumption that can be made.
I have said previously we are looking at using it in combination with Toclizumab for not only anti-viral effect but because one of the key problems in critically unwell patients with confirmed Covid-19 is cytokine storm.
It’s hoped the immunomodulatory effects of both drugs will help with inhibiting interleukin 6 and reducing inflammatory effects of Covid acquired pneumonia (There are a number of other benefits)
In terms of it being used as a preventive measure there may not be evidence to justify this as yet, however I would ignore a lot of the information you are hearing on one; how it’s unsafe to take for it’s NICE approved indication and two; people saying it has been confirmed ineffective.

There is more to it than his investment! Sanofi are being backed by the US for a vaccine. Any publicity that boosts their coffers skill work in the USs favour if they do develop the first vaccine. Da Ifi is a French Company but they have already told the French Government to form a queue behind the US. |

0.0005% death rate or 99.995 survival rate.

Err no, to get that figure wildly and inaccurately presumes the whole of the UK has had the virus. |

Trump mentioned this as a cure couple of weeks ago.
Funny how France, Russia, China and America are using this treatment with great success.
But yet no mention of this is this country. Research it and find out for yourself
Great success but it's a cheap drug.
They are pushing the remdesivir because it's a lot more expensive, from gilead, and more money can be made.
Remdesivir and other anti virals are more promising as they have been used successfully with other viruses. HQ and the antibiotic have no real evidence just anecdotal. Potential sideaffects are worse too.
"
The Recovery study was underway at least 8 weeks ago, I was in hospital with Covid-19 at the time and took part in the trial.
Each subject was randomly assigned to one of the 3 drugs or a placebo (so 4 options all in) I was assigned to the Hydroxychloroquine group. |

Glad you got better. Looks like the un named anti viral was Remdesivir as it has been approved by the nhs for use today. |

I wasn’t debating that, I was merely implying ACTT was closed to recruitment and other treatment options were being explored.
Indeed correct with second a randomisation if progressive covid (as evidenced by hypoxia and inflammatory state) occurs.
There are in fact much newer treatment options that are being explored however, the catalyst study being an example.

No, it wasnt one of them. There was a HIV drug (lopinavir-Ritonavir) which could be the unnamed one. |

Indeed lopinavir-ritonavir was an arm. However remember as an open label, multi centre adaptive study; arms can be added. |

Very true, HCQ has been very successful for many but it's a cheap cure that goes against the media's narrative. |

Possibly or the fact it has quite a few side effects such as heart attacks and retina damage. Probably the main reason is it doesn't work. |

Like I say, you can find these things out if you do I bit of digging, and not just take at face value everything the likes of piers Morgan and others want you to belive. There is also another Dem rep who says it saved her life, the inteview is out there if you can be bothered to look for it. |

"BREAKING REPORT: ICMR finds HCQ [Hydroxychloroquine] is effective in preventing coronavirus, expands its use..."
Tested on 334 people, health care workers. They haven't released the data. They just said despite the increase in heart problems HCQ decreased the chance of becoming ill with covid. I am very suspicious about the study for 3 reasons. First no raw data or test details have been released and they don't seem to want to release them. Secondly 334 is a very small test sample, small samples mean greater errors. Thirdly you do know which country makes the most HCQ in the world, yes india. |

Really??
Russia is heading towards a colossal death rate and rates of infection. They could overtake the USA!
Their health services are poor, unless you have Money to pay your own way.
They have massive underfunding in even the basics, let alone PPE stocks.
Meanwhile, spending on missiles and other areas of Defence, are increasing at the cost of Health. |

Ffs, you can't equate tyranny to trying to control a highly infectious disease. Of course, your probably well versed in knowing the meaning of tyranny but I suspect your medical qualifications came in a 'lucky bag'. |
