Apart from queues.. it's like normal out
Jump to: Newest in thread
I've been out and about the whole lockdown. Yesterday and today especially without the queues and occasional mask you would not have known there was anything going on.
Matlock was packed.... shops were packed. Managed to get my car washed by my usual car wash ( although no queue today)
People were talking to each other much more and much bigger groups around.
Is it the same where you are. |

Roads are very busy, most shops are still closed here though so not many people hanging around in town apart from massive queues for the supermarket. Parks are fairly busy but I've not been to any of the beauty spots so can't comment on them. Tons of cyclists out and about. |

Many of the shops in the nearest town centre are still closed but there are certainly a lot more people out & about. Now people can go out, people near me seem to have stopped doing as much daily exercise as they were in lockdown, which is great for my walks that I've done forever. |

Watching Hyde park on RT live , it looks packed. A1 very quiet this morning , big queue at Halfords and b&q , they are being very OTT, other shops are all fine / pretty normal , was thinking of going into the Peak District myself tomorrow - how come Matlock is packed , is anything open ? |

" guessing because its nice to sit by the river. A few chippys are but they have been open a few weeks now.

I drove to Sandbanks beach last night but didn’t stop As it was absolutely heaving. Couldn’t see the beach for people, all sat drinking and watching sun go down. I knew it would be bad but it was worse than I thought. Definitely no social distancing. |

Early in Whitstable (before 10 am) it was okay, not to many people about. It seemed to be getting busier from 10 onwards.
One garden centre had a notice that it was one person per car only so the muppets were singly 2 metre spacing. The staff could see but they dont want confrontation as they are shitting themselves about catching C-19, you can see most dont want to be there. |

Yep people are all over the forest no signs of ppe anywhere, as per a normal sunny day.
Bbq's will be cranked up and the sound of chatter and smell of sausages all around us, its like nothing ever happened, very surreal indeed |

Cheshire, Windermere ,Cumbria |
All seems quiet in our area, people having their daily walk that’s it, most shops are still closed anyway only supermarkets & diy’s open. Watched Windermere on 3 Webcams and only saw the odd boat on the water there although the weather up there didn’t look to inviting. |

Shops are closed, apart from supermarkets and the rare others. Town centres are deserted. Roads were busier yesterday as I crossed the M6/M5.
People are using their rights to visit leisure spots and Matlock is always incredibly busy, with surplus demand for it. It's a more local trip than people trying to get to the coast, with millions fairly close to it.
The early Saturday evening sound level is silent here, apart from bird song.
People have had suppressed needs to get out of the home to somewhere different to a supermarket food trip and are excited after about a couple of months of home.
This all shows how government advice is all over the place, as people could be around dozens of friends and family out, albeit with physical distancing rules obeyed. |

I was in one of the main parks in Derby and it was as I’d have hoped- a bit busier than the last few weeks but not too busy. So it seemed like people are starting to get out more but not going crazy |

The roads looked back to normal busy today with cars. But not many people walking around which was good. Most moved 2m away/ smiled when I crossed the road if the path was too narrow. |

Apart from slightly less traffic it was a pretty normal ride home from work for alot of bikes on the road lots of people out and gathering in groups.
I took the scenic route home as I'm allowed to ride for pleasure now, I rode past the local biker cafe (which is shut) and there must have about 30 cars all parked on the side of the road at the entrance to the car park which is also locked and shut, plus about a dozen bikes.
It's almost as if the British public has decided lockdown is over already |
