I think you can only go with who you are registered with...and no dentist will do drilling due to the fine mist it creates. |

I'm sure I read somewhere that there are 14 emergency dental practises opening up around here. Maybe it's the same where you are OP?
The advice was to ring your local dentist where you would then be given instructions. |

I know that my dentist has cancelled all face to face appointments and closed the building to the public - I was due a check up visit just on lockdown which was cancelled. They are offering a telephone consultation though. Not that I'm wishing to try it, but it may be they have some emergency capacity as well, so it's worth a call to your dentist. |

You can get a temporary repair kit from the chemist, maybe give that a try and also rinse with warm salty water 3/4 times a day |

Dentists closed due to government instructions. Most are operating a telephone advice service where they can offer help and a very few practice are able to do limited work.
The main issue is that in order to drill teeth you need to spray water to cool the drill. This spray atomised and stays in the air for 45 mins or more.
Fillings are going to be a thing of the past unless things change. Lots of bad and missing teeth. So look after them especially well now. |

I'm certain poly filler would do a longer lasting filling.
And a lot cheaper then them little tubs from the chemist...and that is evening if you can get hold of them at boots as they are all bought up and put on ebay at a 1000% mark up now |

Rang my dentist with a problem this week and was able to confirm from historic dental xrays problem is erupting wisdom tooth causing abscess so was able to do written prescription (dentist not on electronic system) for a course of amoxicillin. Just hope clears up enough to hold out until end of lockdown. Did say to ring back if doesn't clear it so suspect there is high level emergency referral options where surgery could be required but only as last resort. Boots/ chemists do emergency lost filling kits for those with fillings out which could get over the lockdown period. |

Ridiculous they have been closed this long.

Why is it ridiculous"
If you can't see why its ridiculous.
Then I guess you are ridiculous yourself.
Most dentists want to get back to work ..
What's the alternative no dental treatment forever?
It's time to get in with things
Hide all you want .. but sooner or later you have to start living again.. fuck me it's just a virus
And like all viruses some people die and most recover..
What's worrying people about all this?
Also most dentists wont be put off by any risk of corona virus (this no more deadly virus then others )
They know how to minimise risk ..and if they can safely handle HIV and hepatitis infections from blood..I'm sure this is no problem .
Grow up .
Stop hiding .. stop waiting for other people to save you with a vaccine .. and trust your body that it can sort it . |

Drink some whiskey and chew a couple of cloves with the tooth that's giving you pain and you'll be sorted in no time, the whiskey is just to relax and enjoy yourself for when the pain is gone lol |

The government instructed them to close because of the spray of water they use for drilling. This can hang about in the atmosphere in the surgery and if the patient has the virus, it can be passed on to someone else. My hygienist appointment was cancelled because she uses lots of sprayed water too

I have 3 fillings missing, the sharp bits of tooth have ripped my tongue to shreds, im in a lot of pain. I have Sjogrens Syndrome which can (and has) caused problems with my mouth. Before lockdown i had yet another appointment to deal with the problems but i had a UTI so they wouldnt deal with it until i am well (no idea why) so now im left with jagged painful teeth and a very sore tongue i long for dentists to start working again. |

I'm a dental nurse.. Dentist will not be going back anytime soon as we fall into the "very high risk" category, and even when we do it will be limited treatment. If you are in pain u should. Ring 101 they can give you a list of dentist giving very basic emergency treatment |

Right the whole thing on opening the dentist is rushed through to deflect on DC it seems.
A dentist has just been on BBC news and said that dentistry ie in drilling would be the last of the lockdown things to happen. Then low and behold the first he heard about reopening was on tv last night.
They have no masks and dont know where they are coming from. They need FFP3 masks ...one for the dentist and one for the nurse for each patient.
All I can is any fellow sufferers will be waiting until long after the date boris bullshit announced yesterday. |

How can the patient wear a mask? They will be sat there with their mouth open.

"They will probably give you a slot over the phone when to turn up, I reckon there will soon be a long waiting list to get it"
Yes, like the GP, you let them know when you're there and they phone you when you can enter

Called my Dentist and they say: 'Car Appointment'. Call. Book. Arrive and text that you have arrived. Wait in the car to be texted to come in - Wear Gloves and Mask into Reception. Gloves in the Surgery proper. Then mask back on till you leave the building.

"Right the whole thing on opening the dentist is rushed through to deflect on DC it seems.
I really feel for everyone with dental issues. Hope it's sorted soon so you can all get fixed. Worst pain ever was a tooth abscess.
The patient doesn't, the dentist and nurse need a new one for each patient"
Oh yeah! I'm such a knob. |

That's very naughty. They should be seeing people with swollen faces. Hope you get sorted soon. |
