Glasgowish

So yesterday our council careworkers were informed that the union and bosses had been in negotiations and are delighted to tell us that they had agreed whilst working during the virus outbreak we will each be awarded £2 extra in our wages for every shift we do. To me as a full time worker this works out at £28 per month before tax.

Lucky in the pvt sector we are getting nothing.

What gripes me the most social care staff in wales have been given £500 from the government why have the Scottish and English governments not done the same?.

Not only do they call me unskilled, undervalued and treated poorly now we are being treated as not deserving also.

So happy for you.

I'll tell my mrs who works in the private care sector when she finishes her 5th 12 hour shift in a row.

Nothing extra and less starting wage then council carers.

Life must be so hard for you.

Those are the exact same words my wife uses.

Perhaps you should direct your anger at the gmnt rather than other people slaving their arses off for buttons?

I think as on old song said "something gotta change". The deal has to change. Don't blame the council, it's broke too.

I just feel that those doing the real work deserve a real award.

How to make it happen? In the real world.

Collective action is the only way to change society.
