So yesterday our council careworkers were informed that the union and bosses had been in negotiations and are delighted to tell us that they had agreed whilst working during the virus outbreak we will each be awarded £2 extra in our wages for every shift we do. To me as a full time worker this works out at £28 per month before tax. |

Lucky in the pvt sector we are getting nothing.
What gripes me the most social care staff in wales have been given £500 from the government why have the Scottish and English governments not done the same?.
Not only do they call me unskilled, undervalued and treated poorly now we are being treated as not deserving also.

Nothing extra and less starting wage then council carers.

Life is very hard and very stressful as you can imagine. I also do 12hr shifts with very little staff. |

I think as on old song said "something gotta change". The deal has to change. Don't blame the council, it's broke too.
I just feel that those doing the real work deserve a real award.
