I've read this article earlier,after seeing the public transport filled to the max,the last few days,I think it will be the opposite of this prediction,news like this will more likely cause people to let their guard down,not stay alert so give it 2/3 weeks and we will be back to square one  |

PHE numbers lag a bit, London was about two weeks ahead in terms of the rest of the country. It’ll climb, hopefully not as substantially as previously but we’re all just going to have to be careful and learn to live with it for a while yet. |

Perhaps, rather than easing lockdown restrictions for all, there should be some sort of IQ test to establish who has/hasn't got the required amount of intelligence & basic common sense to be trusted to behave responsibly if restrictions are eased? |

I did read something scientific that said it only has a certain shelf life anyway and that it wouldn't just keep on increasing and increasing until everyone was infected. Put more scientifically than that and maybe thats what viruses do anyway, but it seems as if it would have peaked and then come down the other side despite the ineptitude or otherwise of any government interventions. Im not doubting the casualties it takes with it though to run its course. |

Well alot of people like to keep their heads in the sand. I've looked at many different doctors and nurses from multiple different sources, all saying the same thing, thats no coincidence. I accept you have a different view, not everyone can see what is happening right infront of them. |

People have died not nice, watched my mother die last year from a nasty flu in a care home, not a pretty sight. 34,200 also died for the same flu, no lockdown of care homes no cry of panic, just saying not everything is black and white don't believe all bullshit figures. |

No one knows. People coming up with all conspiracy bullshit. This is a new deadly virus. Flu was new once. We got a handle on it and now it still kills people but way less than when it first emerged. Same with HIV. People still dying but modern medicine is getting a handle on it. We are at the very onset of Covid. Let’s hope we get a handle on it soon.

Another possible reason for the reduction in cases in London is that we have herd immunity amongst those who are out and about in London. If you need 70 percent to recover from it to get herd immunity, but only 30% are moving about and spreading it, then you only need 70% of the 30% to get it. That's just 20% of the population of London before the spread rate will go down on it's own. |

I never stopped working! The curve you talk of are people’s lives! Getting back to work as we have ICU capacity is wrong. The economy can be rebuilt but people can’t be brought back from the dead! |

What about the people who will die unnecessarily while the economy is being rebuilt. Apart from the poverty in the UK that will result from the shutdown of the economy, the UN are forecasting that the pandemic could push an additional 130 million people to the brink of starvation, in large part due to the ensuing recession. |

Shutting down England for another 7 to 10 days would have very little effect on that! We should have followed Scotland’s lead! We should have shut down earlier and I would love to be proved wrong but we are relaxing too early! |

Using "common sense" shouldn't we put a bumbling buffoon who is constantly on holiday, went against medical advice by shaking hands with covid patients, employed the only "scientists" in the world that don't think face masks are necessary, advised the public that you could only catch it from people showing symptoms and failed to check airports even then, and is still having kids after not providing for the 6 he already has into a vaccine programme and into chemical testing facilities. Let's test ill thought out ideas on Boris rather than vice versa - that makes perfect common sense! |

By the way it's Corbyn - and he is responsible - let's face it anyone could do a better job - we should never have allowed Cummings in to destroy our country or Farage or any of the numpties but there is always a third way. All I can say is that if we had not voted Brexit or wasted hundreds of millions on it - encouraged nursing staff to leave - cleaners and all the europeans that are currently helping us in the NHS - had we not voted in people who kept relabelling PPE and still gave jobs to their friends, spent money bailing out banks but been on holiday when a virus was breaking out, encouraged people to shake hands as you can't catch it from people without symptoms - of course we would be better off but you harp on about Corbyn when people have clearly been left to die - and you can't even spell - says it all! |
