Man made? Released inadvertently? Or did it get passed on from an animal in our food chain,theories are:a dog ate a bat and someone ate the dog,it originated from a pangolin, which a virus expert said could be the case

It does seem to have come directly from bats the virus in its current form must have passed through at least one different animal vector. The favourite suspect as mentioned above is the pangolin. These are sometimes used in Chinese medicine. Like most viruses that jump from animal to human i suspect it caused by a abnormal human behaviour. Like bse was caused by feeding cattle scrapie infected sheep carcasses in the uk. Without humans cattle would never eat sheep or other meat. |

We never found for certain the true animal vector for the 1918 flu epidemic. That virus originally came from birds but birds did not directly infect humans. Pigs are most suspected. |

There's no need to look at crazy conspiracy theories, when the virus is of natural origin and our globetrotting lifestyles allow anything to be transported quickly to anywhere in the world, whilst we've disrespected the ecosystems and wildlife that we share the planet with. Farming of wild animals that carry infections we have no defence against, in appalling conditions that governments take no management of the potential consequences, is plain stupidity. |

That is said about the virus we now have in humans yes, but what about the original strain that came from the bats, it had to jump to another species in order to get to us, could have that actually been a domestic pig? |

If Trump had said it wasn't China's fault then nearly everyone on here would say it was.
The evidence that this thing escaped from the lab is really starting to pick up.
The evidence that China covered it up is overwhelming from different sources world wide.
But Trump is the handicap. If he said that summer follows Spring there are plenty on here who would say bollocks. |

I haven't seen any evidence it came from a lab. Not saying that you things can leak from labs just no real evidence. The virus isn't manmade but it could have been collected in the wild then leaked out. Problem with that is that virus has at least one other animal vector apart from bats. They species to species tranmission is much more likely at somewhere like a market or intensive farm. |

OK to be fair there is no smoking gun...yet.
But consider this.
The Lab in Wuhan was working on Corona viruses from Horseshoe Bats.
The closest natural community of the species of Horseshoe Bat believed to carry the original infection was in caves around 1000 miles away.
There is footage of the "Batwoman" doctor working in those caves and the Lab was working with that species.
The woman who is generally regarded as patient zero worked in the Lab.
The "Five Eyes" intelligence report (with only Australia having some reservations) believed that the virus escaped from the Lab.
While it is disputed whether or not the wet market sold Bats at all. It certainly has never sold that species.
While the scientific community has always stated the the virus is natural, more and more are breaking ranks to give credence to the possibility of it being Lab modified.
Lab escaped is becoming much more accepted than it was 4 or 5 weeks ago.
Add to that lot the mother of all cover ups by the Chinese government and I think most jury's would convict. |

How did this start?
This was waiting to happen. The association with bats is due to a 96% DNA correlation with bats found in a Cave in Southern China - over 10 years ago!!!! This virus is not that new .- albeit along way from Wuhan. 3% of people in the near vicinity of the cave have antibodies to that virus. It went through an intermediate host to gain its adaptation to ACE receptors ( 10 times that of SARS) Could be many animals to be honest.
How did we get out of here.
Test test test - group test is the way out. We could be sorted in 4 months and save the The country . We have the capacity. We just lack leadership. |

I'm going to throw a spanner into the bat theory. I think that's a red herring a cover. My theory is China sent a probe to the moon to search for water at the poles. They caused an impact to release debris, this was collected and brought back to earth. This had some wierd virus.
A lab tech gets accidently infected or a person gets experimented on as Cina want to inhabit the moon and becomes patient 0.
One of the reasons Trump was angry with China not being honest and said America could have helped is because they new already about the virus contained in moon samples.
They quarantined the Astronauts when they arrived back on earth. Initially out of pure safety and just in case, there after by neccessity.
Is there a cure? Ask Nasa.
