"Just watching the live output and when asked directly the PM said NO you cannot go to or go to and stay at a second home.
"
But your council will demand you pay council tax on it.
Where is the council tax relief |

What if your employer is paying you to work on it? If you are going to it as your place of work, if someone is paying for you to clean or repair it, then you are doing the right thing, if you are alert and keeping physical distancing. |

"Downing Street is the office and he needed to recuperate (he'd been ICU). Chequers has the security and communications so he could continue to be briefed."
So the large flat with private garden at 11 Downing Street doesn't have security or communications ? |

If a home is empty and not furnished you would pay 50% council tax in Wales, why should you have tax relief in a 2nd property! |

We went to ours last weekend to undertake essential maintenance ahead of renting it out for the summer. I know local plod had been suggesting non residents go back to main home but staying in a second home was never against the law.
You can holiday now so staying at a second home should be fine.

Why should you be taxed on something you aren't permitted to use?
Same coin, different side. |

I can't find anything that specifies how long you can stay for. |

I think your missing the point. When Bojo came out of hospital, he would still have been very unwell and very infectious. Over 400 people work at No10 and No11, it would have been stupid to have him there. Chequers not only has it's own security but it's own medical staff and all the comms that anyone could want. |

"Mad to think some people have actually got 2 homes
Why? If I was financially able to afford a 2nd property, I would certainly buy one!
A good long term investment!"
Dunno.. I just think maybe 1 is enough. |

I’d love a place in Spain. If I could only have one house then I wouldn’t be able to come back to Costa Del Stoke. |

Nothing mad about it. When I go home I like somewhere permanent to kick back in the sunshine I then rent it out when I’m not there. Can’t make money back from staying in a hotel. |

"I must live in a different world..1 house costs enough"
But isn't the rent you charge supposed to cover all the costs of the 2nd house?
When I win the lottery and get my single bed flat in central London for £1m I will let you know how it works out |

It's a southern thing.
Us thick northerners can only afford one at best."
Ha!
Cliches aside, I hear the property prices are lower up your way. So you should get more bang for your buck? |

We were given the green light last weekend in England, not sure why it took them so long to allow you to stay even overnight when it’s something you own. |

I was reading an article yesterday and it was suggesting that property prices have already started to fall in main cities and are rising out in the sticks.
The logic is this . . . as companies keep people working from home and now that people aren't commuting in, the need for property in the city in in less demand, thus falling prices.
For those who used to live in the cities closer to work, they are less inclined to do that now. And have started to look at property in the sticks. Becuase of that they are rising.
Dizzy now lol.
But got my drift I hope. |

Apart from housing the cost of living is not much more.
I work down south most of the year.
Shopping for food and other essentials is no difference at all.
It's just the the governments over the last 50 year dont look past Watford gap.
When it comes to spending on infrastructure.
The amount of cranes and building sites in London is obscene. |

Don't see where is says that?
With regard to second homes:
1.12 Can I go on holiday? Can I stay in my second home?
Yes, you can stay overnight away from the place where you are living. This includes staying overnight in a second home, hotels, bed and breakfasts or campsites.
You should only stay overnight in groups of up to two households (anyone in your support bubble counts as one household) and should ensure you maintain social distancing with anyone you do not live with or is not in your support bubble.Take particular care to maintain excellent hygiene - washing hands and surfaces - and avoid using shared facilities like bathrooms wherever possible.

Also why stay in a city during a lockdown, when you can live in the countryside with loads of places to go. |
