How hard is it to understand that the virus will take it's natural course until a vaccine comes along (if it ever does). Lockdown was to try and stop the health service being over run. Containment can only work in some countries either with contained borders or excellent contact tracing and isolation.
Much as people are hate to hear it herd will occur, lockdown just slows it. The collateral damage from lockdown is now causing as many deaths as the disease.

Rubbish
Someone from Germany confirmed in another thread that the data available is correct and there is no increase in numbers ... Yet |

That isn't strictly true.
The "R" number is rising a little here but it is based on a ratio of new infections to active cases.
Both numbers have fallen dramatically in the last few weeks.
The problem with the "R" number is that active cases have dropped quicker than new infections so pushing the number up.
The 7 day average in Germany is now 887 new infections per day. For the previous 7 day period it was 1127.
Go back to mid April and it was running at around 3000, some days peaking at over 6000. Meanwhile active cases have dropped from over 60,000 to under 20,000 in roughly the same period.
Some scientists are now doubting the reliability of the "R" number. It tends to create quite a few anomalies. For example Spain with a 7 day average new infection rate of 2505 has a lower R number than Germany on 887. |

Exactly this. We are all unemployed soon. This will cause years of misery and more deaths. |

Just to put this in perspective. The new cases have appeared in Shulan where there were 17 cases reported on Sunday.
Shulan is near the Russian border. Russia reported 11,656 new cases in the same time period.
So while it may seem like China is poised to reinfect the world, it is actually Russia with the problem. |

At least in China they lockdown and try to contain it.
In the USA with their 80k death toll they are protesting restrictions and their leader is suggesting they drink bleach. But don't worry about them. Thank God he won't let us in. |

While the UK is a big problem the new infections rate in Russia is becoming quite alarming.
So far this month it has only had 2 days (1st and 2nd May) with new infections of less than 10,000 (and they were not that far short)
Russia has recorded another 11,600 today and has now passed both the UK and Italy for total infections.
To be fair the Russians seem to be carrying out more tests and it is from a much bigger population.
However the Mayor of Moscow went on record a few days ago saying that just in his own city there were around 250,000 infected at a time when the official figure for the whole country was below 200,000.
Even if you just take the official figure as true the curve is still going upwards when most (if not all) of the rest of Europe is starting to curve downwards.
There could be a very big problem brewing there. |

The more people we know have had it and survived the less scary it will be. |
