" What does ‘as much as possible ‘ mean to you and do you think it will mean the same for everyone? " As much as possible means to me that if I really don't need to do it then don't go and do it. Then I am limiting those chances of meeting people that I don't need to meet. For example I don't NEED a McDonalds but I might want one. So I'll avoid that and avoid others who are serving them to me. I do NEED Fuel so I won't avoid that but I will STAY ALERT to the dangers of the grip on the pump handle and the pay machine etc. PS. The likleyhood of me eating a McDonalds it nil anyways lol

"Can you visit a friend" I have to visit people for work and have to get closer than 2 meters to them so I don’t really get what the point in having a lockdown has been when you still have to work with strangers with no face masks or anything?

Quite rightly you wouldnt risk their health, I live alone and have to travel to work so it is possible i will be meeting friends as the government has now given me the green light to do so Where does it say you can meet friends? Where does it say you can’t ??? I was once told not to stick my fingers into an electrical socket. I’ve never needed to be told it every day since. That's because you and I and most here have at least half a brain Clear simple messages are for the huge part of the population that are fucking morons, they are mostly the problem here" If people are prepared to go out when they were told to ‘Stay at home ‘ imagine what will happen now they are told to ‘stay in where possible’ I can guarantee their will be parties and gathering tonight . And where does this leave the Police, how do they enforce this

"It's almost like boris's mate cummings had been leaking bits of what might happen and the devolved parts of the UK having not been consulted decided to stick with the protocols apart from a few tweaks.. And given the broadcast was not going to be live with no clarification to the different types of lockdown we seem to have, some bright spin doctor has come up with the above.. Which is vague.. I forsee a minister being sacked to further deflect from what is only looking more and more like an administration scrabbling about to try and look competent.. " My money is on Matt Hancock getting the bullet

"Stay alert explained by bj’s official spokesman (MEN online 10/05) • Stay alert by staying home as much as possible • Stay alert by working from home if you can • Stay alert by limiting contact with other people • Stay alert by keeping distance if you go out (2 metres where possible) • Stay alert by washing your hands regularly Well that’s all clear then … Can I see friends and family or not? All that makes sense to me. What does ‘as much as possible ‘ mean to you and do you think it will mean the same for everyone? To me it means, only go out if essential Exactly, doesn't take much to confuse people tho, is it that difficult to understand.. Why didn’t they use the word essential then ? " I’m sure they said Stay Home unless it was essential not to, ie work, food or medical but a lot of people didn’t understand that so what does it matter what the new statement is if not everyone adhered to the first one.

"It's deliberately vague because the government want to get the economy moving again, but they don't want to be seen to be responsible for infections increasing again. It's a massive abdication of responsibility. Sadly it seems there's a solid 40-45% of the country at the moment who will support the Tories no matter what, so they'll probably get away with it." Then I am limiting those chances of meeting people that I don't need to meet. For example I don't NEED a McDonalds but I might want one. So I'll avoid that and avoid others who are serving them to me. I do NEED Fuel so I won't avoid that but I will STAY ALERT to the dangers of the grip on the pump handle and the pay machine etc. PS. Yeah Theyre letting the youngest ones go back first The ones that are the least likely to understand that they cant play tag Genius It makes sense it's the young ones who will be picked up by granny and grandpa while mum and dad are at work. I can't see anything wrong with that. It makes sense to send the 4 and 5 yr olds back first? How?" Just thinking this myself.

The youngest ones take longer to settle back into a school routine and need more time to adjust to social distancing in school

"I'm not sure what To do? Can I kiss friends Fuck them Hug Shake hands Carry a gun Get an elephant Go out naked I need clarification it is not obvious that's a no no no no ......... Can I lick them then? You didn't mention licking.... Ffs boris you didn't even mention licking lol You can kiss, hug, or fuck a gun. But not lick it. You may shake an elephant while naked, but not lick it. The main think is to stay alert while you're doing these things." I'd stay alert while doing those things, better still I'd stay in!

" Because half the country have been screaming for weeks that they need to get back to some normality before the whole economy collapses No they haven't. Opinion polls have shown huge support for the lockdown. Don't make stuff up to try and make a point. " Have you read these forums at all? Because there are plenty people desperate to get back out to work I’m not one of them i have been working from home the whole time, but its not a lie to say those people exist

" It makes sense to send the 4 and 5 yr olds back first? How?" those are the ones making the transition from reception into yr 1 (nursary to primary in old money).... those may need to most help adjusting and their teachers can help them same reasoning for those going from primary into secondary....

"Stay alert explained by bj’s official spokesman (MEN online 10/05) • Stay alert by staying home as much as possible • Stay alert by working from home if you can • Stay alert by limiting contact with other people • Stay alert by keeping distance if you go out (2 metres where possible) • Stay alert by washing your hands regularly Well that’s all clear then … Couldn’t have been more confusing if he’d said it in Serbo Croat Yeah but he confused everyone with real conviction He said bugger all like he meant it" Yeah; and that’s the tragedy- people are going to interpret it

That it puts the elderly at risk doesn't seem to be a factor.

I certainly wouldnt want to have to make them Not least because of the potential issues with childcare. Most people dont work 9-3 But I dont get why theyve chosen the youngest children to go back first. At the end of the day, if 4yr olds are a few months behind with their reading, they are ALL going to be behind.

" What does ‘as much as possible ‘ mean to you and do you think it will mean the same for everyone? As much as possible means to me that if I really don't need to do it then don't go and do it. PS. The likleyhood of me eating a McDonalds it nil anyways lol And here is the problem , it doesn’t mean that to me , and it won’t mean that to millions of other people The words as much as possible actually have a very clear meaning ... its the same as saying if you can you should So if you can stay home then you should stay home People who choose to interpret it differently are doing so because it suits what they would rather do than are able to do But we have now been given the choice. Why has it gone from stay at home to stay at home where possible? Limit human contact to limit human contact where possible? Because half the country have been screaming for weeks that they need to get back to some normality before the whole economy collapses Because another portion have been yelling about how their freedom has been infringed on Because we don't live in a dictatorship and (stupidly) they think we have a nation of mostly adults that should be able to use common sense in making rationale choices If these forums are anything to go by we would be better off living in korea or being provided with a personalised hour by hour schedule of how we should live our lives because the concept of applying common sense to a set of guidelines seems to be blowing peoples minds "

" But falling 4 months behind on your fundamentals could push you back the whole way through your learning, the younger you are the more like a sponge your brain is (that not scientific i know its just my understanding and i think its why they say its much easier to learn a foreign language when you are very young than as adult) The more of this prime time to start these kids off well that is missed, when they need very guided learning, the harder it might be for them to ever catch up Generally the older kids have these foundations already and will be able to catch up those missed teaching hours much easier is what i would have thought I know childcare will be an issue for some but i doubt it came into the reasoning, afterall the purpose of the school isnt actually to look after children its to educate them

The former is a simple top-down instruction. The latter recommends a form of moral devolution to each individual. Further I sense (so personal opinion only) that the driver of change is almost unquestionably related to restoring the economic focus of the country. Therefore my last remaining unknown is which country are we talking about?! Thanks all.
