The mortatilty rate has been pretty consistent.
What was the intial worry was the r0 number (the spread) 1.5% is bad but not terrible if the r is say 0.25 and only infects 10000 people
But the r number was running with global projects of 4-7 prior to global lockdowns.
Take ebola which has much higher mortality rate but lower r number.
The spread is limited but once you get, you are fucked

"Your really not fucked ... the odds are very much in most people’s favour it is still the minority of people that get infected with it that even end up in hospital. "
He was on about Ebola when he said if you catch you were fucked. |

"I read that the survival rate from COVID 19 is 98.5 % does that ease anyone’s anxiety xx " So 1.5% death rate that's 100,000 so a long way to go then if that figure is correct. |

Surviving is one thing but not every one of the 90%÷ who survive may be healthy. It can cause organ damage, as well as the lungs, the heart and circulatory system, the brain and cognitive function, kidneys etc can be left with long term damage that's not minor |

Oddly enough no, but maybe cos I'm not anxious. I survived a virus with a 30% mortality rate with treatment and 70-80% rate without. So with those odds you'd think I'd be happy. Unfortunately I don't know if I'm a vulnerable person cos of the previous virus. |

I never was worried or is, but it is good news. I wonder why they dont report such good news on the tv as much as compared to other things about the virus. |

Doesn't make for "exciting" headlines does it....that's what press look for... stuff the facts, let's make a catchy headline! |

I think Bruce Willis got more cheers for saving Earth from a fictitious asteroid than any good news journalists will ever promote.
The endless daily waffle of news misery is an infection humanity will never find a vacine for. |

I've got people I'm helping that panic alot. They understand logic and numbers so ive resorted to getting them to do the percentage of people died worldwide .. double it.. triple it if it makes them feel better the actual figure is about 0.0132% I think.
Now I know its not all about numbers but... this helps them with their anxiety.. and for me that makes a big difference x |
