They don't have any other news i would like to know about about normal deaths as well. You would think it was the black plague that killed half of the british population. |

They aren't telling us road deaths and injuries have dropped dramatically, no airplane crashes, pollution right down.... Is that saving lives? Less hedgehogs getting squashed...... |

I read an analyst (I think from the FT, on Twitter) suggesting that we should add another 20k excess deaths due to Covid related disruption so far. Yes, I do mean the UK alone. Does that make you feel better? |

"Because it's a real, present and global threat and an event of unparalleled significance in our lifetimes?"
How do you know? It might be eclipsed next year by world war 3, alien invasion or covid20 |

Unidentified flying objects and unidentifiable sexual conquests have always existed lol but I see it as 50 50 lunacy, sending messages into space, because if they do exist its ....will they want new friends? Or dinner? |

Thank god for more wildlife saved
I was walking through my local woods and admiring the blue bells. So many around because of Covid-19 as less people treading on them |

"Just wondering in every single news or headline, they always put the death toll of covid 19. Why cant that they tell us about other death besides covid 19?
"
Because the other deaths would be higher then the Covid-19 deaths, and most of the time they wouldn't know who died of what. |

If you had a major plane crash it would make the news .... if you get the equivalent number of deaths of 2 or 3 plane crashes a day I think that merits front page news |

Things such as cancer cases not coming forward, treatment being suspended. People with chest pains avoiding going to NHS and then dying of heart problems etc...thats my understanding anyway. |

Because it's exaggerated on purpose. Many deaths for any causes are now blamed on covid.

On top of the 32,000 deaths attributed to covid there are about 10,000 more deaths over and above the 5 year average in the same time..
there has been a marked drop in people presenting at hospital since lockdown.. |

The death rate now is just the start.
Stay lockdown and save lives, not true.
In south Africa you have stand in line for 6 hours in the hope you get some food because of Europe lockdown. Millions will die the virus won't get a lookin. |

Not related but important. Boris Johnson in the same week he was lamenting how much he loved the NHS etc he was signing off 200 billion pounds on a railway (Hs2) we don't want don't need and definitely can't afford, imagine what that could have done for our NHS our economy. So much for the chance of change and a new way of living |

People always lose all reason lol if you are old enough you will remember we had enough nuclear weapons to destroy the world several times over, we all got leaflets saying what to do if a strike happens etc and people said we don't need bombs la la la and the world is different now lol it's never different, watch game of thrones!
Then hiv was killing everyone and no cure, it has killed millions, Eddie Murphy the comedian was doing a joke, like fuck, what's next you just put your dick in and blow up! Please bring back herpes and lice lol
So are aliens coming or what? And aren't there a lot of hedgehogs about and why did page 3 get stopped lol |

The Government did write off the £13.4 billion NHS debt.
But I agree we really do not need Hs2 as much as it's being touted, but it will create jobs at a time that the country may well need them.
Or . . . build a new specialist hospital every 200 miles along the route instead using the money. |

Should we be paranoid, scared or what?"
24 million people died of hiv last year
Over 36 million year before
But yes we should be scared of covid hot water and animals with big teeth....... It's a long list.. I'm scared of a well wielded strap on |

A. The media is obsessed with spreading misery and depression

B. It's the Government's best form of populace control to keep the lockdown relevant and in people's minds. |

I'm not sure if you'd realised but Covid 19 is rather the big thing at the moment, it's pretty new and it's killing people at quite the alarming rate.
The government has told us that relaxation of restrictions is dependent on a number of things, including deaths from Covid 19, so I find it quite useful that the number of deaths is reported daily.
I'm sure if cancers were only a few months old and we were able to prevent ourselves from getting them by self isolation they'd be announcing the cancer deaths n the news but it isn't, we can't, so they don't.
Why so keen not to have Covid 19 deaths announced anyway? |

The news does regularly state deaths from other diseases such as cancer. But its pointless doing that in a pandemic which really average Joe wants to know what's going on with the pandemic. |

I get the feeling there are a lot of people who think they should just be allowed to get back to doing whatever they want because they don’t think they will be affected too badly if they get it. Conveniently forgetting about the people it does affect makes that easier, being told it’s killing hundreds every day pricks at their conscience and the selfish don’t like having their conscience pricked.
I think that’s probably why they are so desperate to cling to anything that will help them go back to doing what they want and fuck everyone else. Wilful blindness is very real, and very dangerous. |

This genuinely puzzles me, why aren’t people happy we didn’t need the thousands of extra beds (nor that we could’ve staffed them)? |

Yes.
You don't know if you'll suffer badly. You don't know the long term consequences. No one knows the long term consequences, that's what novel (new) means.
And even if I knew for sure that I'd just feel like crap for a couple of weeks and life would continue... I'd still keep my disease vector arse at home because I also don't want to harm others.
Economic damage is inevitable here. There's a balance to be had. But I fear some don't care about the scale of death and disability, they just want to pretend all is well.
We're approaching the death toll of the London Blitz. And on this VE Day, some are talking about the survivors of the blitz being disposable.
Lest we forget indeed. |

Maybe I hate been threatened and made to be scared and that if you go out you will die of covid 19. There are deaths every where and every day.
When I first studied microbiology I was paranoid and scared because i was told and taught how we can get infected just touching money. But since then no big deal as people die of mysterious death every single day with large numbers of casualties.
I still go work, shop and still interact with people from distance. I think covid 19 is just getting too hyped because flu still kill kills people and we dont get the new every single day |

Because news is about what's unusual by definition. And this is in addition to everything else.
Would you prefer a breakdown of all the ways people die on the news? I wouldn't. That sounds horrible. |

Right...so everyday deaths happen..yes flu can kill..cars can crash..cancer patients die..etc..these are the norms we are used to...but put simply... Covid19 is killing extra people..the number of deaths week on week..month to month are higher in every country..
The virus is new...it is affecting people differently..we don't know the long term impacts as it is still new..not around long enough to understand..
But already we know it has the ability to cause significant damage to some people..
There is a video on YouTube..re the maths of infection..flu..1.5people equals in a 10 person chain only infects less then 30 people... Covid19..the same chain equals 50k infected...that's a significant difference...
Just take a moment to actually look at the reactions and views being expressed by the actual staff on the front line of treatment...they are seeing higher numbers of deaths... almost instant deterioration in Patients resulting in rapid changes...and not in a good way..
We are faced with a stark choice. And if you wanna shove your head in the sand you go for it...I'd rather you shoved your head up your ass..but HeyHo..it's not a conspiracy..it's not just flu..and if you think different.. I'm not arguing with you...but I'll gladly explain why I'm right...lol (dropping a rick and Morty quote..) |

So when there is a plane crash that kills say, 300 people do you ask “why are you talking about a plane crash when xxx people are killed every day in car crashes?” Or do you, perhaps, think that’s really sad?
Things that happen all the time aren’t news, that’s just the way the world works. |

100 is ok. I just dont want to overwhelmed the media "

"I feel like people would rather forget and move on, and so are getting upset that this is still happening, and are getting upset with the messengers.
It's here, it's bad, and no fluffy feel good or not listening will make it better.

Hate to say but your pseudoscience falls down..on 1 major issue re Covid19...
It's a virus..not a bacteria...it does not grow on surfaces..it exists..but a bacteria will grow..think petri dish..
So what's your point re washing your hands?..... Duh..(Billie Eilish.. quote) |

"Facebook, YouTube and Twitter are Struggling to Take Down a Video about Coronavirus Conspiracy Theories
Just Google that, it will take you to the link"
Because it's the same... actually..it's worse then Flat-earthers. No one is gonna die from the rubbish they believe and try and spread...
I notice you say you studied microbiology...not that you actually achieved anything like a degree...I studied detecting shit...I have a machine and everything..and it works like a Geiger counter..and the sound of the clicking is doing my head in.. |

We would rather they mentioned survival rates as well as death rates |

"How many of those deaths are not related to the virus and been added to the list ,i mean with out a autopsy on them all how do we know they all died from it .."
I suppose in the same way somebody who is diagnosed with cancer and dies from symptoms that are conducive with having cancer.
We don’t do an autopsy on them either, in fact autopsies are pretty rare. |

There are some interesting figures showing the number of deaths per week and comparing them with the average for the same week over the last 5 years. This shows that the death rate suddenly shot up and is currently around 10 thousand people per week dying than the average. |

Can you suggest links please? If in fab rules.
The scientists keep mentioning this method of determining numbers during the daily briefings. It will give a better way for comparison between countries than the current graphs as all countries may be counting covid differently. |

"They aren't telling us road deaths and injuries have dropped dramatically, no airplane crashes, pollution right down.... Is that saving lives? Less hedgehogs getting squashed...... "
There was a report recently that attributed the drop in pollution and better air quality with saving 1500 people |

"NASA admitted UFOs exist last week. That should be front page news"
Don’t believe that - I know for a fact that all the NASA people are in lockdown deep inside a mountain bunker. That press release came from a night porter they left in charge of the building. |

The guardian have reported a rise in the number of average deaths at home of +8000, 6400 were non C19 related.

I'm getting to the point I don't trust the figures anymore ...seems that the daily count has gone up in the last few days ...just as easing is mentioned....seems convenient....a friend of my wife who works in a large hospital in kent in icu....would like to know where all the deaths are ...especially in the last 4 weeks |

The flip of this is I know 2 separate people..from 2 different hospitals..1 in ITU..the other a respiratory ward..so the next step down...and they both have seen more deaths per number of patients..within this period...so swings and roundabouts |

My friends and colleagues working on Covid wards and ICU know only too well where the deaths are coming from, I guess what happens in one area of the country isn’t exactly the same as what is happening elsewhere. |

I’m drawn to this line in the article which provides a simple explanation...
“leading experts to conclude that many who would ordinarily have been admitted to a ward and died there are instead dying at home.” |

Sorry but...did you hit every branch of the Conspiracy tree as you fell out and smack all the sense out of you on the way down?
You have witnessed people dying..? I know actual medical staff who are dealing with this..
And he's a thought..if you have Billions in the bank. You are able to use this to be a philanthropist..and a humanitarian...he has never claimed to be a medical expert..just in a position to look ahead..a bit like comparing the action of Obama and Trump and how they scan ahead...(well 1 of them anyway) |

"So are you saying all the reported deaths are of the virus"
If that's at me....I take it you mean in the daily briefing...then that's the stats..
Those in hospital now for any reason are tested and if they die..then why not..every country has had an uplift in total deaths for this period...so what... just a coincidence? |
