As soon as Lock-Down is lifted the North of Scotland is going to be swamped with Tourists
People coming up from South of the Border bringing COVID-19 with them and passing on to many.
North of Scotland will soon be the worst effected area |

So what do you suggest, kill off a major part of your economy? Let’s have it right, the lockdown was never to destroy the virus, it was to keep beds free. The vaccine isn’t and will not disappear until a vaccine is found..if ever. Furthermore if a vaccine is found it isn’t going to be given to children and the general population, only the vulnerable. So seeing comments such as this, and those that are saying they still won’t send there children to school is ridiculous.
Similar to reactions on here, “im not scum I won’t risk lives til lockdowns over” its still going to be here for godsake, so either accept it and take the risk, or you might aswell kill yourselves now |

Ok lets take stock a wee bit here. Traditional turist areas are going to see an influx of people. thats good for the wallets but bad for the health.
The virus will be with us now the same as flu or the common cold. But hopefully managable and not an annual cull!
Vacine will manage that we hope, but just as new flu vacines need to be produced so will i suspect Covid Vacines.
Just like HIV its not who you are but what you do that will determine your risk.
We learned to alter our behaviuor to deal with that and minimise the risk we will with covid to.
As for the English camping on the lawn, well we have been delaing with that for centuries and again we will deal with it. So if the English can just empty thier wallet in the collection basket at the border you can collect your pre-selected photos of mountains from the booth and go home. Thank you. Lol.
Panic will not change anything. Sorting our shit out will. |

Those pesky English with their germs hahahaha
This post made me howl!
FYI as of yesterday in Scotland...
12,266 Covid positive cases
1,576 patients who tested positive have died
So I think you'll find that you already have a problem.
Maybe we should stop the likes of you travelling South...views and opinions like yours are a far worse 'virus' than Covid my friend |

Ps I'm a Scot myself. |

North West England is covid-19 hotspot. I don't think the problem would be with the people of Scotland heading south... |

Which tourists? I won't be going abroad this summer. Therefore, i'll take break somewhere in the UK. If that break is in Scotland, i'll be a tourist.
I think we'll see a lot of people spending money that would normally be spent abroad in the UK.
Furlough has costs the economy £8bn. It works out about £250 per working person. I'll be spending a lot more than £250 in the UK rather than abroad. That'll benefit the tourism industry. |

We have very low rates in Highland.
Never more than 60 in hospital and about 5 of them in ICU.
We have a population largely unexposed to the virus, partly due to low population density. |

What you have to remember is the entire population of Scotland is less than the population of Birmingham!
Per head the infection rate in Scotland is now probably higher |

Birmingham : 1.086 million
Scotland: 5.454 million
Maybe West Midland? 5.908 million
Now "probably higher". Got anything to back up that claim?

That would mean stealing some of England anything from 0.6 mile at it narrowest from scotland, up to 68 mile at its widest |
