Unless you were really unlucky or travelled to a place where there was a genuine outbreak it's unlikely it was covid 19.
Could have been another virus though.... In that case you won't be immune... Most of us won't be, as we haven't been exposed yet...

We were both ill after the Christmas and whilst it led to a course of antibiotics for chest infection and we were pretty much wiped out for week's, bit of a cough and a temperature we don't think it was this virus..
Anyone who thinks what they had maybe look back at whom you met and whether whatever you thought you had also infected them too..
Did any of them end up in ICU and die?
Etc.. |

I was in contact with someone in late November who was very ill, A couple of weeks later my friend who was also there got sick then early January I had it, It was the worst type of 'flu' I've ever had, Sore throat, Bad chest aches and pains and couldn't move for a week and the illness lasted about 3 weeks |

If it was December then 99.9% it was Flu....
I was totally out of it in February (when it was about) with ALL the symptoms. GP said I had temp of 39.2, dry cough, pneumonia...two different antibiotics. Said if my temp was half a degree higher they would have blue lighted me. Went home with strict instruction to ring 999 if felt worse (I did for next two days but you catch all sorts in hospital as they are full of sick people) BUT....I don't know if/not I had covid.
GP since contacted me saying they now think I did....but unless tested at the time, or antibody tested I won't know. Nor will anybody else....so follow precautions and keep yourself safe! |

"Don’t know if anybody else had this but prior to Christmas. I had all the same symptoms as covid 19. Took a lot to shake it off. Wish there was a widespread immunity test. "
My sister and her husband had the same thing. I was due to visit them at Christmas but just started a new job. She said it was a good thing I didn't come as they were sick most of December into early January. First Christmas they couldn't even visit family they were so ill.
My sister lives in Milan. |

"I'd hope an antibody test is high up on the agenda. I think they have to be sure that it can't be contracted twice though "
Current belief is that it can't be caught twice. Some people were re-tested in Korea and found positive but last week they discovered the second tests were unreliable and the people were in fact now immune.
Of course the scientists are learning new things every day so who knows? |

What we need to be mindful that even when we know covid is here in the UK. The amount of tests undertaken due to covid like symptoms far outweigh the amount that are testing positive.
Stay safe everybody until you can confirm with an antibody test that you did have it ![](/icons/rainbow.png) |

"France has tested and confirmed that covid 19 was present in france last year...or so the bbc are reporting.."
If that is the case then that's interesting..
Virus's do mutate the scientific types say.. |

France has reported positive tests for a patient they treated in December so it was in europe last year....is it possible that many had it before the panic set in...highly likely with the amount of visitors to the uk |

Yes. I believe I had it in December. I've never ever had anything like it... couldnt even get to the bathroom without help. Temperature that wouldnt go down. A cough that wouldnt go away.. I've been told by my doctor that they now believe it was possibly covid 19.
Luckily I'd already been away from home when it hit.. and due to believing it was a bad flu. I stayed away from home.
I did have a hospital visit due to the fact I felt like I was dying...
We wont know. Although the did take blood while I was there but doubt it would help |

I was very sick in February. It felt like moderate flu (though I always have the flu shot every year) combined with a bad chest infection. I had the cough, the temperature, and felt very tired and weak - it took weeks for me to feel 100%.
Was that it? Who knows, it was nasty though.
