Really want to be working right now but have the issue of staying in a house that needs 'shielding', I have applied for fruit picking, live in care work etc just wondering if anyone has ideas to help someone desperate to be working but just needs some form of accommodation.

Any help is appreciated even just supportive words during this crazy time.

Stay safe, stay fabulous

Thanks for the fast responses

There isn't a set role or area for work I just want to be working rather than being locked down in an overcrowded house with family members that need to be shielded under NHS advice. Literally the only issue is knowing I am not bringing anything back to this house, if i had the money upfront I'd try to rent somewhere or something like that.

Ideally a government scheme should be in place to temporarily house people who want to work but can't due to living situations, I'd happily house share or stay in a caravan on a farm. I have applied for various jobs like that, where you can be housed while working but not getting any responses right now. Before the lockdown had offers in retail and warehousing but had to turn them down because of the situation

Does it need to be paid work?

There are voluntary roles with organisations that let you work from home (usually making phone calls to and from vulnerable people)

The government is recruiting 18000 traders but will probably be voluntary...

Can't really find the privacy nor peace for something like that in my current living situation. I would prefer paid work as I'm not furloughed or anything like that, mostly want to be keeping busy and not feeling like a sardine in a tin.

I help alot around here but we are tripping over eachother and tempers are fraying fast, if I had someone to stay with for that 'cooling off' for a few days I would have taken that up but no one I know is able to.

The guidelines read that it needs to be measured in days not hours to prevent people just visiting.

I can appreciate what you are saying but I literally don't have a private space besides the bathroom but that's encroached upon with in minutes by knocks on the door

Is there not anyone you know or locally who may have a caravan you might be able to use for a time which you can keep away from your loved ones and then do some work, if you are successful in finding something?

Good luck with it, however it pans out..

Unfortunately not, if there was I am certain I would find something in no time but the main problem is the accommodation prior to starting. Not looking for anything rent free but need to build the funds first but can't because... it's a depressing cycle

Voluntary work can help with keeping the mind occupied and provide vital services to those in need.
