My other half is super fit...I'm not but since he's done all the shopping for the last six weeks my diet and exercise regime has meant I'm 15kg lighter than I was.
I ordered Quality Street and Roses via Amazon on Friday...ask me how much is left! |

I've lost weight as while not working its easier to control my diet and to plan meals. Getting more exercise, working on allotment and in garden. Havent weighed myself for decades so dont know how much and dont really care. Gone in two notches on my belt...commented on positively by lady friend who has also dropped a dress size from 12 to 10.
This situation can be more of an opportunity to take control of your regime rather than an excuse to chow down and pile on the pounds. |

There's always choice here and knowing what your preferences are helps us all to pick wisely, typically without needing to insult others or knock them, when they may be down.
This crisis is likely to affect people for years, so it's worth society coming together, being supportive and loving |

I was a lard arse before and I still am.
I also love leggings. So comfy.
Apologies to anyone that may be offended by the sight of my arse in leggings, however it's their problem not mine. |

About the same amount as was left after 48 hours of the 16 slice cake we had last week? |

"How many people have piled on the pounds during lockdown ...more fat lard arses in leggings looming I fear....or men in football shirts 3 sizes too small"
Weight gain is almost inevitable when you can't leave the house.

Well done to you for your weight loss but i think the last bit of your post is unfair, not everyone is currently living the same lockdown with the same opportunity
Some are still working on the frontline, with many more hours then home for a greasy micro meal or takeaway because they have no time to shop
Many are still working from home, more hours than usual as its less efficient so dont have time to get out for long walks
Some are home schooling in the day, catching up on work in the evening and at kids bed time are so frazzled they just want to flop on the couch with crisps and some wine
Some are shielding and not allowed to leave the house at all
For some it’s triggered their depression so it takes all their energy just to get through the day
So again well done on the positive change its had on you but maybe take a second thought before you assume anyone else who hasnt managed to do the same only had their own personal choices to blame |

No need to call people crass names in my opinion. People's lives have been turned upside down. Some have to work from home whilst home schooling, which means working incredibly long hours.
Shopping for yourself and others who are unable to go themselves takes hours. Not everyone has time to cook from scratch or go out for long walks etc anymore. |

Yet here you are. Maybe its because people don't think that jabs about weight gain are funny and are not overly sensitive as you put it. |

I think a little sensitivity is appropriate here.
People's lives have been turned upside down. Coping with the unprecedented with a global invisible threat that might kill you or those you love. Is killing people, and medicine hasn't figured out entirely who or how, or how to mitigate it. A global depression is coming.
This is going to have huge mental health consequences. One very common side effect of mental health issues is unintentional weight fluctuation.
But instead of understanding this, we're apparently worried that people will look aesthetically unappealing in leggings. |

Right heres one on moving about.
I have taken back up to walking.. started off at half hour walks and up to 40 minutes on the last one.
Problem is my left calf is aching like mad after 10 minutes.
I put it down to being inactive for weeks.
But I think I know what has caused it by watching a documentary last night....and it adds up.
What do you think it might be?

Either a pull in the one of the muscles that make up the calf, or a shin splint but think you would have considered that..
Or are you wearing lederhosen whilst walking?

Same diet as before this started. Missing the gym but resistance bands are filling that void a wee bit. But back to doing cardio with all this free time, 3 runs a week. And enjoys looking at the hot pics in the category sportswear. That’s been very busy lately and I love it |

"Everyone will be coping in different ways during this crisis. Why anyone would slate others for gaining weight right now is beyond me"
That's just the thing, this isn't normal life tbf and it's a broadside to most people's priorities and "way of life" in general.
My own routine has changed of course. Whilst I garden, can fling dumbbells around (when little one is not wanting something which is admittedly rare) and play rough and tumble games with my daughter, exercise being limited means my number of steps a day for a start has quartered; whereas I'd regularly hit 40,000 a day at work in normal life, with these circumstances hitting just 10,000 is a good result.
Whilst I've not put any significant weight on as I have more time to cook and prepare meals I'll invariably find getting straight back into the high physical demands of my job harder than usual in the first few weeks at least.
People will be affected in different ways. And once things get back to normal you'll probably find those who've put a stone on or such like hitting the gym hard around their work schedules like you normally do after christmas.

I've actually lost 5lbs purely because working from home takes longer, my deadlines are the same as they were but without taking my regular breaks and therefore I am not eating regular meals etc.
I don't drive so I have to walk to get groceries and therefore can only buy what I can carry, so NO I have not become a lard arse, have you? |

"How many people have piled on the pounds during lockdown ...more fat lard arses in leggings looming I fear....or men in football shirts 3 sizes too small"
Nope not me although i can make my arse and boobs look bigger if pics are taken at certain angles. Actually lost weight as lost appetite due to my stressful job. |

"My other half is super fit...I'm not but since he's done all the shopping for the last six weeks my diet and exercise regime has meant I'm 15kg lighter than I was.
I ordered Quality Street and Roses via Amazon on Friday...ask me how much is left!
About the same amount as was left after 48 hours of the 16 slice cake we had last week? "
...I still feel queasy. |

I'm special. I've kind of had my own lockdown since April of 2019, so the weight gain has been slow (but steady) |

Not turned into a lard arse as you put it even though eating huge amounts of chocolate every day, I’m the one that people hate, I eat what I like and don’t gain weight, sometimes the opposite eat more weigh less gosh knows why, even have under active thyroid which goes against the normal rules, people always said it would catch me up when older well erm I’m older |

I forgot to mention that I was only 7st 3lb before all this happened due to a peptic ulcer, I now weigh 6st 12lb, so no I am not losing weight that I can afford to and no I don't have an eating disorder and never have, it's just as things change my stomach shrinks in it's capacity so when I do cook a meal every night I am less able to eat more than a few mouth fulls as my body then thinks it is full! Everyone is different and I do wish I could eat more as I really look forward to my meal, but alas I am left feeling bereft, I am planning on a cooked lamb dinner tomorrow with mashed potato's so fingers crossed, I wont be wasting the effort or the cost!
People need to understand that everyone is different! |

"Right heres one on moving about.
Which part of the calf..?
The centre
Sounds like it needs massaging, with oil...
Aye but I know what comes before the massage oil "
Are you implying filth... |

I gained over a stone in the first month, but I'm gradually shifting it again.
I don't have the additional time some people do; I've had to furlough my assistant and trying to manage a global food ingredient supply chain is proving something of a nightmare at present, so I'm working much longer hours than usual (and I work long enough hours under normal circumstances).
I'm a stress eater and I have a very poor relationship with food, but if the worst health issue I have in a global fucking pandemic is a stone of lard to burn off because of comfort eating through stress and fear then I'll consider myself truly blessed.
I don't often wear leggings (only really to the gym and dance classes) but anyone who doesn't like to look at my lardy arse in them is welcome to kiss it. |

This is not a dig its a genuine question, why has the assistant been furloughed if the work hasn’t gone down? I thought the purpose of the scheme was to cover wages of staff where their services were not required during lockdown because of a reduction in business, sounds like companies are using it to cut their wage bill and just putting the additional work onto the employees still working (who have in many circumstances have taken a pay cut too) |

Our business has gone down a huge amount. Sadly the range hasn't diminished, just the volumes on each line. I'm still trying to source rice bran, just 80mt instead of 600mt for example. Trying to arrange a contract, shipment and import is the same no matter what volume I'm trying to secure.
I get why the furlough, and for most of our furloughed staff it makes sense if the company isn't going to go under before things pick up again. It's just placing a bit more pressure onto some of us where our workload doesn't vary in direct relation to production volumes.
I didn't take it in any way as a dig, no worries, it's a natural question! |

Ha well i am learning people aren't very good at guessing tone and can take these virus threads quite personally ... just wanted to be clear before i got reported and naughty stepped again
I guess i thought furlough was for where work for the employees didn't exist anymore rather than the company couldn't afford to keep paying them for their job ... probably a wrong assumption and either way if it keeps them in a job til things get back to normal then thats fair enough ... just sucks the extra has ended up on your plate |

Hahaha, that's why they couldn't get all the tests available used.
In the end they had to post them out to everyone, and count that as 100k tests done, when only half will actually come back! Lol.
Most people hate their jobs and are loving furlough. Eating chocolate and watching Netflix!
I've lost 3kg! |

I've put a fair amount on and it's easily visible.
I was gonna fuck it back off again but that's not looking like much of an option so I'll go back to hating myself and crying into a tub of ice cream the way I did many moons ago. Give it a couple of years and I'll find my confidence once more and boom, I'll be back.
