1918 figures mean nothing for today's epidemic.
Different population, different (non existant) health service, different living conditions, different way of disseminating information.
The government has always said there will be more peaks or waves of infection, the idea is to keep them at levels the NHS can cope with. |

First "wave" of Spanish flu was spring 1918...died down somewhat in summer. Second (largest) wave occured......Mostly in USA....due to mass repatriation of troops at end of war in Autumn 1918. |
