Who’s coming through the pandemic with their reputation enhanced? Who’s reputation is in tatters?

I’m very impressed with Rishi Sunak, there’s a future PM there.

Bill Gates offering to fund a vaccine. He’s obscenely wealthy, he realises that he is and that he can do wonderful work with his charity.

Richard Branson, well he needs to sort his PR because he has totally misread the mood of the nation. Hardly surprising from the warm shores of the BVI. We ain’t funding your businesses fella. Flog a few assets just like you did before.

In tatters: Sadiq Khan and TFL for their handling of London's transport network.

Enhanced: Angela Merkel, South Korea and Taiwan for their effective testing and tracking

I think the UK as a whole had lost out. This virus has exposed the true extent of what austerity has done. Sunak has done well, seems the most competent of a shit bunch. Boris will come out ok, getting the damn thing will give him a free pass in a lot of people’s eyes. Patel has been shocking, pretty much in hiding, but we knew she was unfit for purpose anyway. It has also shown the real pitfalls of the gig economy and blown apart the notion of a low tax, low regulation system.

Yeah I have been impressed with Dishy Rishi.

Not so much Priti Patel.

They are at polar opposites when it comes to holding the daily update.

Not impressed:

Sadiq Khan has presided over unprecedented times in London. He will remembered for several failures some of them fairly attributed to him some not so much.

Then I have actually been quietly impressed by Sir Kier who has come out the traps swinging. His appointment for the BAME Covid enquiry is very astute.

Patel is like a robot, her lack of any empathy yesterday was telling and obvious, could have been reading a shopping list..

I must be the only person not impressed with Boris. Lockdown came too late. Issues with PPE. Total lack of organisation and he knew a while ago this virus would hit our shores and did not plan properly for it.

Well it's exposed the total lack of ability and expertise across the cabinet. Anyone with any experience who wasn't slavishly loyal to brexit was purged. And it left him with incompetents and sociopaths to fill all the jobs.

Still, at least shoplifting is under control in all those closed shops

Not impressed with every single journalist at the daily briefings.

Totally surprised when it's their turn.

Unable to remember or even read their question.

Asking questions it's impossible to answer yet.

Asking the same impossible to answer question time after time.

Never asking questions people really want to know (eg. how many people have recovered).

Rishi Sunak will only be popular while he’s dishing out the money. As soon as he’s responsible for the paying back people will hate him (and will probably be reminded of his beliefs - his voting record shows what he thinks of people)

Patel: In any other industry she'd be sacked.

Hancock: Rabbit in the headlights.

BJ: Late to the party, more concerned what people would think of him with his buffoonery/bravado than considering that 'Salus populi suprema lex esto' he recounted yesterday. This should be tattooed on his eyelids.

Sunack: Did what needed to be done - for most. We'll all pay for it, and so we should. Death or money? - easy choice.

Irony of ironies: Jeremy Hunt chairing the Commons Health Select Committee. He is a disgrace and should be on trial for what he has done to the NHS, and by virtue, to the collective health of the nation. Hopefully he will be when the ashes of the dead settle.

Sadly not, Boris could shit on his own granny and push her off a cliff and they would still think he is the best politician in history

Johnson disgraced. After voting for nurses not to get fair pay - beforehand - failures to have a plan, allowing Cheltenham to go ahead, 250,000 people, herd immunity plan involving hundreds of thousands dead, belated lockdown, not having planned and ordered PPE, testing supplies from January, a sloppy late lockdown and still minimal testing. Priti Patel, another thoroughly nasty piece of work.

Sadique Khan good, managed TFL with it under duress, illness for key workers.

Angela Merkel, another star.

Does being open minded blind you to people being profoundly incompetent then??

Yeah, I'd be critical of any government that had made a hash up of it. Did you vote?? If not,I'm tempted to say that your opinion is utterly null and void to be honest.

I totally agree - if you don’t vote you can’t complain. You took the decision to let others decide your fate by abstaining. This current shambles didn’t get a majority of the electorate they got a majority of those who voted. It’s a very different thing. It’s about as hypercritical as a Tory voting clapping every Thursday night tbf.

Exactly. If you're impressed by him, then you're very easily impressed. He only got the job because his predecessor had the backbone that Rishi lacks.

Not so much critical as questioning, hence the subtitle 'Irony of ironies'
