Consequences of trying to meet other fabbers during lockdown.

Just wondered how many people would or have reported others for trying to meet during lockdown. Whether it be because of a direct message or from seeing a status update. What are the consequences to the fabber requesting a meet?

People are crazy. We've had a couple of people this week get all narky with us after we've pointed out that no, we don't want to come round to play, cos you know... Virus/lockdown etc.

Have had the same guy contact me four times for a meet since this Lockdown started

Have to assume that he is also contacting others and that he is actively still out meeting.

Why do people seem so hung up on knowing that these people have been 'punished ' in some way?

Is there any point? Has anyone actually been banned and even if they have they can just rejoin.

"... even if they have they can just rejoin."

It is a palaver doing that, and then you have to wait for a period before you get access to some areas of the site. So at least it will slow them down, and maybe make them think...

Also it is possible IP addresses are logged, to inhibit rejoining from the same broadband (though not many people have fixed IP addresses now, and arguably it should not be captured)

Because this virus seems to have given free license to the self-righteous to pretend they are some sort Inspector Morse.

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.

******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).

Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

Admin

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.

Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

--

Your feedback has been saved.

A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.

By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.******
