"Bundesliga bosses have signed off on a May 9 return date. - A maximum of 322 people will be allowed inside stadiums. - The 1,100 players involved will need to be tested for Covid-19 symptoms. - Stringent hygiene precautions will be put in place including pitchside sinks. - Players have agreed to wash their own kits. Football is almost back ??????" 322 people. So taking away the the two teams playing, subs, coaching staff, officials, team owners, ground staff, TV staff and security I'm guessing there will be no public there?

"Let's hope they get covid if money is so important to them. Playing football does nothing for no one so I'm not sure how it is a necessity to risk opening gates to allow the game to continue. Brains are obviously in the balls they kick about. Ridiculous. " Let's hope they get covid? Real nice guy you are! Maybe thees a realisation that we all need to learn to live with this virus as best as we can. "I can't see any sport that breaches SD rules restarting this side of Christmas, except possibly golf " They'd be fucking stupid not to. Football is a great tax source and the numbers of people involved is way too small to make a difference to R1.

I'd like to think they'd keep it free if the English leagues resume but I can't see it.

I’m guessing tv revenue will already have been agreed some time ago, and presumably already paid to clubs via the premier league ? The only extra tax hm treasury would gain would be from the ability of the punter to spend cash, wherever that may be .. Is it a valid reason to say play the games sooner rather than later as it will generate additional tax revenue ?

" I'm not going to pretend to have read their contract but these are very unusual times. Burger King decided not to pay its rent this month. That wouldn't be acceptable in any normal times would it. Are the broadcasters going to pay for games that haven't happened, I can't imagine it. If I owned a football club and I knew there would be no matches in the UK for 2020, the first thing I'd do is ship my best players off to play in Germany on loan. There goes the wages and the tax.

Where’s the extra tax coming from, assuming fans will not be attending match days or watching in pubs? What's your point? The money in football comes from the TV revenue. You need games for that. Football clubs are barely profitable anyway, are you suggesting that the football clubs are going to pay their players to stay at home for the rest of 2020 if there are no games? It’s not a point I’m making, and it’s not a gotcha question either - just thinking it through. I'm not going to pretend to have read their contract but these are very unusual times. " I'm sure nobody would want to hire your players to their club. Even in the Polish league

The clubs there are self etheric unless the PL. Hence why they are back playing in Germany, for the sport. Not the money..

"We need to void this season and name the Champions alphabetically. Start next season a bit earlier and spread it over a longer period to ensure proper testing and monotoring of symptons." Ignoring the obvious and rationale for your comment, I really don't see the point in voiding the season. Void it and start the next season in August? With likely disruption due to further waves, the following seasons could be disrupted. If we play this one out it gives football fans some enjoyment over the summer for the lack of football at the moment and euros. The next season could be picked up in August and the other cup competitions cancelled including European or change the format to a straight knockout. Yes, I am a Liverpool fan so clearly want this season to complete if possible but I think all football fans need to see a return as soon as it is safe enough.

Football helps to lift moral, give a sense of belonging, pride, joy etc. It is also one of the biggest employers in the world, which allows the flow of uncone and tax. Sone people are getting bored and would love to see the return of some live competitive sports. I believe, for many it would also be a sign of hope for the future that things are going in the right direction. Personally i think the testing kits would be better serves elsewhere (especially in Britain) but i am unsure of the situation in Germany other than they seem to have handled the whole situatuin so far better.

Nope but all the talk is to award Liverpool the title. If they fix the top of the Premier, then they should sort the bottom out as well. And that applies to all this talk about giving West Brom and Leeds a free pass to the Premier. Either void the whole lot, or get the whole lot sorted.

Can we have a public outcry please and tell them to go back home like the rest of us and void the season like the rest of us are having to that play a bit of sport." logistically football wont be the first sport back.... its just the one with the biggest TV contracts so it could survive behind close doors at top flight level.... it would be easier for example to bring back golf and motor racing first because you can both those without crowd plus they kinda social distance themselves anyway, plus the teams can be spread across a greater area.... and with the TV deals... again they can do/make money without crowds.... its going to be those games that need crowd revenue to survive that will struggle....... thats why i can absolutely see a situation with football where the top 2 leagues are played out... and the bottom 2 leagues call it a day now! the big "team" sports will be the last to come back because of the amount of people in one general area... so for example... if as is being muted in scotland.. they are going to not allow crowds of more than 10 in one place.... how you going to allow 11/a/side footy?... 13/a/side rugby league? 15/a/side rugby union?

" Football will be back, albeit with games played in closed stadia. I think sky have already said if the league was cancelled they would not come back for the money anyway..... i would love to say yes... i just don't think it will! the arguement is going to be what do you do with promotion/relegation me personally... i would say top 2 up from championship and no relegation... so both top 2 divisions will have 22 next year... then season after you have have 4down/ 2up to go back to where we are....

Mind you they act as if they have been hacked down in a normal game so they won’t find it too difficult." More people are shopping everyday then what would be in the ground, If they do start playing again I'm sure they will have all been tested and their doctors will be checking them daily

They should save the tests for important essential workers rather than wasting them on footballers.

"They will be private doctors with private testing facilities. " Correct money is no object for them to get all private testing etc and right now I think it’s good for the men n women that love football in this time of lockdown. We all need some good stuff to look forward to..and I also need my husband from under my bloody feet..bring it on

"They are overpaid. The nhs staff should be paid the big bucks not a bunch of guys kicking a football. Pay them a simple wages not millions. Just my opinion on football. As for starting again I say not while the country is on lockdown. Football should be one of the last things starting up. Just my 2 cents" Pay them a simple wage? They get paid massive wages because they generate massive income for the clubs. It's a business like any other. Oh and essentially half of their massive wages go to the taxman. Its not like they are paid by the government and taking wages away from nurses etc. The NHS staff have been fantastic and I hope they all receive some form of bonus payment at the end of this but I think you would have something to say if the hospital porters were suddenly put on 80 grand per week!

"Players refs etc. will have to be tested for every match. We have an insufficient supply of test kits at present so why waste them on football when there are far more necessary people in NHS, care, 999, transport, supermarkets etc. End season now plan for next season without crowds which will be need an awful lot of planning." The clubs will source their own test kits. The doctors will be private and the test facilities will be private. They wont be taking anything away from the NHS.

"Trust me I am a huge football fan and so are all of my friends and family and would love nothing more than to have it back again . However , my priorities are my said friends and family so bugger this season and start afresh next season . It's an unfortunate situation but please , more people are dying every day because we took too long in implementing safety measures so bringing "normality" back too soon will make this shite last even longer. I listen to talk sport every day and the general topic is because Liverpool are so close then they should be given the title as they haven't won it for 30 years , SO WHAT !!! The reason they havent won it is because they haven been good enough , period !! I'm a Luton town fan btw " The reason they haven't won it this season is because the season is on hold, If its safe for them to start playing they will continue the season. I think the 25th of May is the cut of point
