A group of shop keepers and connected and concerned individuals have set up a distribution point to support our lical NHS Hospital Staff for essential items as gifts.
It has been met with racist and offensively disgusting comments on our local blog site.
What is it with people..
Trying to simply help others who look after peoples loved ones.
Last week a number of overnight cars at our local hospital, obviously nightstaff, came out in the morning to find thier windows smashed in.
WHY? |

I know things are bad, but this seems more like a load of yobs in the area. Hope they get caught and the area gets better. As a care giver and a regular NHS user I am thankful that some people can help them. Wish I had the money to help them or the time. |

It's NHS staff at the queen Elizabeth hospital in Glasgow came out after a 12 hr shift to find someone stole their bikes, with public transport being so reduced, staff have little option but to cycle to work, those criminals need a hard les on in life its shocking same with those speeding excessive speeds causing a danger to others and extra demand on services they in my opinion should lose their licences immediately for six months why waste time and money in courts for those feckless twits hard sharp lesson in reality is what's needed.. |

Where was the damage to the cars reported, not seen anything about it on the local news who did cover the attack on a police car at the weekend? |

It comes from the top. When the PM makes jokes about Muslim women looking like letter boxes, the morons follow suit.
You don't have to look very far from here for racist and disgustingly offensive comments. It's a problem that's getting worse not better.
As for smashing car windows. The mind boggles at why anyone would do that. |

Sheds and cars and pets and tools are on the hotlist.

As this situation goes on there will be a backlash against NHS workers from some individuals. I am starting to see it now: nurses being abused for being in their uniform, NHS workers getting abuse for being able to get discounts, Nurses being slagged off for doing dances on tictok. For all the aporeciation their will always be bellends that think that saving lives is not enough. This situation is bringing out the worst in some individuals. |

"Not been in the news, happened same night others were reported around the UK.
Staff member told me about it.
Royal Preston, not Chorley."
There were other nhs staff who had their cars attacked around the country?
Where was it reported please?

Because whether people want to admit it or not theres a problem with racism in this country.
It's been said for years and years but certain people always want to deny it.
There are no black or asian people who are shocked that peoples kindness is being retaliated with hate and racism. |

It happens more than you think. I know a lot of nurses who it has happened to and it's also been posted in quite a few of the local facebook groups. Not sure if they've been reported by newspapers etc though |

This is sadly correct. As there will always be a small section of society who add nothing to it, take everything away that they can and generally have a chip on their shoulders to mindlessly lash out at another group they get the most absurd inkling is responsible.
These dickslaps will always exist, though fortunately relatively small comparatively in number.
It is those societies in which the small minority is larger than usual which have the most problems and which our society must safeguard against by raising our children the correct way.

There was a report linked to Preston Royal last Feb where staff there had cars vandalised by 'aggrieved locals' even though some were legally parked off site, essentially because car parking for staff (totally out of order that its not free, subsidised) is expensive..
I just don't recall that last week there were NHS staff around the country who had their cars also bricked in etc on the same night as the issue claimed at Preston..
Would have thought with the current deserved goodwill to NHS staff that this would be picked up by the media.. |

Hope she is OK, sadly it's happened down south too as some muppets wanted staff ID to jump the then queues..
On the back of the legislation last year which I think covers all emergency services it should be stamped down on although the government will say its a resource issue perhaps at this time.. |

B " That's the problem, tthese idiots are raising children to become hatefilled rodants. By daughter is mixed white-Iban, I have racism toward us in her playground, this is a very good school. Soe people are just hateful, there children grow to be as hateful and the only course is a change in how these people are punished. |

Agreed - only parents , communities, societies creates these people - look in the mirror for he reasons. They are scum agreed, but often never been shown any care or love by parents and no role models in family, community - it’s not an excuse it’s the reality. Then you have clowns like BJ in charge setting the example that lies, cheating , racism etc is all acceptable, he represents the views of those who elected him

Try as I might, this makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever: the fact that people are targeting people they'll need to look after them and their loved ones in a medical crisis and your acceptance that its inevitable.
Why is it?
When did we get so fucked up? |

'My acceptance that it's inevitable' is cos I am actually going thro this day in/day out. Don't believe all that fluffy shite that nurses get applauded everywhere they go. People are getting scared and taking it out on health workers. Think of that when you clap tonight.... |

Blimey no chance for any of them then re Boris and, if labour had got into power, re Jeremy C with his handling of the anti Semitic faction within Labour. |

I've never clapped as I think virtual signalling is pointless.
I was a nurse in the 70s. You can imagine being a black nurse pre equality etc was no picnic, therefore I shouldn't be shocked, yet here I am: shocked. |

I won't be clapping tonight. I don't want the false applause anymore, I see it as fake and definitely virtual signalling. I thank those individuals I come into contact with on a daily basis. But me and my team getting abuse for doing our job has overstepped the mark for me. |
