Small shop with 4 aisles of food- high street mini supermarket.
A person is walking round the shop coughing. They are not covering their mouth while coughing, or wearing a mask.
Should they be asked to leave?
What would you do if you were in the same shop as them? |

Offer a bit of advice not nasty but my asthma and my stepfather asthma make us cough unexpectedly. The hayfever I have gives no warning so a nice have you taken some medication for that would be better than just complaining. Some of us are really bad at remembering our medication. Plus if it is anything else you will know that way to wash everything down with antibacterial soap and have a hundred hot drinks and wash your hands with anti bacterial soap even more. You would know better where you stand in your own health. |

Fella doesn’t cough at all. Until he walks in a supermarket and he can’t stop. He gets really embarrassed and people look at him. It’s the dry air. It starts him off. |

No but seriously I would have retreated out of the shop and gone elsewhere . |

Yes, they should.
16 year old shop assistant at our local B&M was headbutted the other day after asking a customer to maintain distancing.
Shop workers and other Key Workers should be also protected by the "blue light laws" giving more severe penalties to offenders.
I would not be surprised if asked to leave, the person you refer to had spat at the person who had asked. |

I'd report the guy to the security. I hate to say it but it's his/ job.
I suffer with hayfever so I know I'm going to cough. However I have the decency and common sense to A) cover my mouth. B) During these times cough outside the shop.
More often than not you can feel a cough coming. Any reasonable person would leave the shop, cough then come back in.
Let's not forget there are 100's of reasons why a person would cough only one reason would be covid.
This said don't forget that poor security guard is likely employed by an agency and paid just above minimum wage to confront those people we try to avoid.
Calling the police? Mmmm? |
