Does anyone else agree that instead of the media being the ones to ask the questions that are going to give them print worthy material it should instead be members of the public posing real world worries and queries? |

I am of the opinion that daily updates were a mistake. The questions are pathetic, repetitive and generally not helpful.
I really wish that when the media ask a question that the minister responds with either "I refer you to the answer I gave you the day before and the day before that" or alternatively "Next!"  |

I like that idea!
I think the updates themselves are a good idea rather than relying on the media however like you’ve said, the media have always got a ‘target’ or an angle that they are looking for. |

I don't watch them. Don't need to watch lizards speak broken english. Like Michael Gove saying lockdown needs "balanced judgement". No shit sherlock, I was thinking we should roll dice but now you've really made me re-think. Or there's "no date" to re-open schools. Another meaningless response, they could at least tell us the conditions that would result in schools reopening and without using the fucking word "reasonable" like it's a court case. |

But I do agree that it's entertaining to see Trump fumble his way through them. And it was funny that they have to make videos for him to play, like a primary school child, because he's unable to speak properly or make any points. |

I agree the press shouldn't keep asking the same question one after another.
There are lots of things they can ask and get the answers to question the public would like to hear.
We know there is a global PPE shortage let's move on from the same question.
Matt Hancock said some PPE can be reused which was supposed to be one use only. This was meet with outrage from some. Now Essex hospitals have said actually we can wash these one use gowns 3 times and keep their repellant nature.

Have to say having watched a large number of daily briefings given not only here in UK but also the Trump comicathon every night, i have been pretty impressed with Nicola Sturgeon's briefings the most.
While i don't always agree with everything she says, she always seems to strike the right tone between capturing gravity of situation but avoiding downright gloom and doom, i also think she comes across as quite a clear and concise speaker compared to a lot of others on show.
Having said that i am trying to cut down on watching all daily briefings as they can become very repetitive to to journalists asking same questions over and over again. |

It was good yesterday when they had the Liverpool Echo journalist on. Should be more regional reporters as they are much closer to their local communities and have much less of an agenda. The Echo journalist really pushed home the point that we were too relaxed and too late with lockdown restrictions. |

I’m in agreement with you I just switch over when it comes to the questions but. They should just sent out an FAQ beforehand to stop the journalists asking the same questions.

To be honest depending on your views on Scottish independence she will always be one of those leaders who is either held in high regard or contempt by most. In terms of pure leadership qualities and how she comes across during interviews and grillings by journalists i always think she handles herself pretty well compared to most current politicians.
Not as much fun though as watching the nightly comedy special held by big Donald lol pure comedy gold at times, although shouldn't laugh as the problems and confusion he is causing are potentially dangerous. |

Think she always comes across very well.Never dodges the questions (unlike some others)and is concise and gets her point across.
Really admire her.Though labour willie fucked if you get independence.

They need to have some science and medical journalists asking the questions, not just the political ones.
eg Gove explaining how different ventilators work a couple of weeks back was painful and also inaccurate. Nobody had the knowledge to pick him up on it. |
