Today's Fudgefest masquerading as a Government Briefing will be at 4 pm. Gavin Williamson will cover for Boris Johnson who is recovering undercover at the taxpayers' country retreat Chequers.

Top of the agenda will be excuses, followed by essential untruths & answer-avoidance.

I think we aren't getting anywhere near the truth especially when you break down the statistics and look at how it seems to be disproportionately affecting the less fortunate in society (yes I know Noddy and big ears (Boris and Prince Charles) have allegedly had it but who knows how true that is and as yet I've not seen anybody genuinely famous or powerful die from it

I don't even know what is the point of doing daily briefings. They keep saying the same things:

- the curve is flattening

- PPE is on the way

- lockdown stays

Nothing changes.

At least the stopped talking about the Dyson ventilators that will never exists and the magic 1.5 million antibody tests that never worked.

Andrew Neil tweeted the following after today’s briefing ......

Some unsolicited advice after another dire present conference. Ministers that most folks have never heard of should stop their amateur-hour ‘father of the nation’ acts. No more homilies. No more patronising pats on the back for us. No more even more patronising pep talks.

No more annoying exhortations for us to buckle down further. You don’t have the authority or respect for any of this. Just give us the facts. And give straight answers to straight questions (unlike today when it cam to Hugh Pym’s question on PPE).

It doesn't help that the 'journalists' ask some stupid and ridiculously convoluted questions.
