It seems to me that CV19 will continue infecting until everyone is accounted for. We have no mechanism to stop it - only to delay it, so that our health systems can cope.
The only final solutions are:
1)Natural Immunity,
or
2)Vaccination.
We need Antibody Tests to validate 1), and we need to develop and test Vaccines for 2)
So what are the timeframes for these? |

Immunity is the only solution full stop. One form is a direct result of the virus, the other is artificial immunity by vaccination.
12-18 months might be a good estimate for either or a combination of both. I reckon we are in for a pattern of lifting and imposing restrictions until we have had enough people infected or a vaccine is available. Both will probably take a similar length of time. Vaccine then available alongside the flu jab for those who would normally get it, then we will be know what the new normal is. |

It's possible to eradicate it from the country, albeit difficult and probably wouldn't get buy-in. Millions tested, the infected isolated and contacts traced as core principles.
Currently countries are getting infection rates below 1, from every infected person, which leads to it dieing out. |
