"for the bat flu why can't they get one for the common cold? "
Because the common cold is caused by a multitude of different viruses - rhinoviruses, adenoviruses, coronaviruses etc. Each type of virus will then have multiple strains, which might cause mild or more severe symptoms etc. In short, it's impossible to vaccinate against so many strains AND unnecessary, because the cost-benefit doesn't stand up. Why vaccinate against a condition that is so mild (the common cold, that is)? |

Why would we want a vaccine for the common cold? Common colds run their course for most people and leave us with better immunity as a result. We need our immune systems to work against things to gain better immune systems. Vaccines have their use but are not always the answer..and often have terrible ingredients.

Well said, what goes into vaccines is quite an eye opener. I know it's only milligrams however chemicals such as Aluminium, squalene oil, thimerosal(Mercury), gelatin, sorbitol, emulsifiers and formaldehyde don't exactly get me rushing in the queue for a vaccine.
Look at boosting your immune systems, loads of info out there on how you can do just that. The old saying an apple a day keeps the doctor away wasn't far wrong. |

Is that why the death rate was huge prior to modern medicine?

Vaccines literally boost your immune systems. That's what they do.
Also: if you're worried about what's in a vaccine then wait until you hear all the chlorine they're putting on your fish and chips.. |

The so called common cold isn't just 1 disease caused by 1 thing and its viral sources also mutate. There used to be a lot of research in to it but it failed. Researchers from companies will only do it if they estimate reasonable success and sufficient return on their investment. |
