Chemical warfare seems unlikely. But nations that didn't prepare or provide for a populace of people in peak health conditions could be seen as culling their people, imo.

After all that is what a government is supposed to exist for, to serve their people in the best way that they can.

"Does anyone here think the whole.world is being culled?"

As in (for example), a conspiracy by Pension Companies to cull an ageing population (the elderly are the worse hit) so they do not have to pay out as much in pensions?

Highly unlikely.

Or that Nature is enforcing a cull. Not in an intentional way as if its thought about it but in an evolutionary way.

Nature can be brutal and its generally the weak, sick and old that suffer the worse of the brutality.

More plausible.

I do think you need to apply your brain to develop yourself with something that might educate and inform rather than using your over active imagination like a ten Yr old and apply some common sense as folks earlier said this is a real situation with real people dying and ridiculous conspiracy theories are just idiotic and shows the level of brain power that some people have.. Why don't you just try and bring fun and laughter people are stressed and worried, and this does not help people's mental wellbeing.

Tuberculosis culled 1.5 million people in 2018.

The Tsunami of Dec 26th 2004 finally claimed 230,000 lives in 8 hours.

Communist regimes have been responsible for an estimated 110 million deaths since 1900.

The Holocaust death toll is around 6 million from 1941 to 1945.

Disease, mother nature and people have been culling populations since records began.

If it were some sort of worldwide plot by governments to cull the elderly & sick population, then why would that be one of the first groups they set out to protect from the virus by imposing self isolation/shielding?

at a time such as this when some people are anxious and we have mental health professionals already saying there is an increase in referrals due to this virus then such things are not helpful..

To cull means to reduce a population by selective slaughter.

So, in this case, who's doing the selecting? It may look like a cull (because we're noticing the deaths of the elderly) but 'looks like a cull' is not the same as a cull.

Lots of these thories either depend upon large scale conspiracy theories which don't have either evidence or coherence, or on a kind of variant of intelligent design theory that believes there is something called nature, or mother nature, which has a purpose and which acts in pursuit of that purpose. It's bollocks of course, but it's more comforting to some than the reality, which is that most mass extinction events, and their little cousins, the mass pandemic, have their origins in nothing more than chance.

"Does anyone here think the whole.world is being culled?"

If every government in the world suddenly decided that they'd simultaneously like to kill off the most vulnerable in society... simultaneously then there are much easier ways of going about it and at much lower cost to the worlds economies.

So NO!

It's not exactly a surprise that people who are poorly are less able to deal with additional illnesses. Someone with heart disease is more likely to die in a car crash than a healthy person too.

I think the reason why there is such an audience for conspiracy theories is that it is preferable to believe this is deliberately caused by humans, rather than a virus that has crossed species. The latter shows how susceptible we are to such events.

I don't think anything is conspiracy theory if : 1. Events exists

I.e. you can find documents source for it.

2. There are direct links and lines of contact between sources.

Who are they selecting to kill off?

Adults.

Loneliness was one of the biggest killers in the previous years.

starvation can easily be done.

Canada has just recently limited food production.

Milk and cattle are destroyed.

All in the name of keeping us safe.

Its that easy to do when you trust you government and allow them to do whatever.

"Does anyone here think the whole.world is being culled?"

Let's be clear, every death is a tragedy and behind every number is a person and their loved ones.

However around 150,000 people have died over the last three months across the globe so far out of a world population of around 7.8 billion. A rate of 0.002%. Doesn't feel like a culling!

Obviously there's a way to go and sadly more people will die over the coming days, weeks and months...if not years. But not a very effective cull...yet

What a load of old cobblers.

There is no conspiracy at work here....just a load of humans fucking around with nature (ie eating bush meat and tigers cocks) and enabling the spreading of a disease at a faster rate than nature could ever achieve by itself.

If conspiracy theories were true Trump would actually be the superhero he thinks he is instead of a creepy old man who wants to stop funding the WHO because he needs to shift the blame away from his inaction again....

I’m a firm believer that nature has a way of controlling numbers of each species on the planet, be that through natural selection, predation, or disease.

As we have no natural predators anymore (we killed them) nature has created another way to attempt to control our numbers before we multiply to a level that would be unsustainable for the population as a whole.

Just the ramblings of one man, and by no means meant to get anyone’s backs up
