has any one had the increase aprox £20 per week in working tax credit as set out by the chancellor.

It said from 6th April, but my working tax credit has not changed.

"And here it starts fuck the poor we are all in this together bollocks "

Going by the comments yesterday

That the government cant help every business or family completely goes against what he said last month "we will do all that it takes"

Utter nonsense, not surprised.

If you're paid weekly first full week after 6/4 or if monthly first full month after 6/4. For Universal Credit first full payment period after 6/4.

No. I contacted them because my tax credits went down significantly this month, which didn’t make sense. I had done one of those tax credit calculations and it wasn’t making sense as to why I was paid less when it should have either stayed the same or increased.

I did an online chat thingy with HMRC (much better than phoning them by the way!) and it turns out they had over estimated my earnings.

I gave them the figure from my P60, they said it would take 2 days for system to show changes and “bingo” my payments had increased.

They did say the changes weren’t due to take effect until the 6th (or 9th) April anyway.

Maybe check they are working with correct figures and hopefully you will get the increase in your next payment (if you get paid monthly).

Hope this helps? I highly recommend the online chat.

Self employed, earnings slightly less than last year as march is normally peak month.

Apparently it will change on 6th may and be back dated.

Mine went up by £9 a month. Guess it's better then the normal decrease but doesn't help with the added cost of having children at home 24/7

Mine hasn't changed,I get mine weekly,I'm still working so the extra would be an overpayment surely,so it will affect future payments if I get it

Surely it is for those that are unable to work during this crisis

Also I'm not paying for school lunches/breaks food and drinks,so that goes into the food budget now instead, just like normal school holidays

No mention of if your still working. To qualify for working tax credits you have to work a certain amount of hours.
