I saw him on the news on Sat, walking in the sun and heat and was saying that he should be taking it easy under those conditions. Bloody hot just sitting on my flat balcony let alone what he was doing at his age |

"Yes, it's now over 5, 000,000....!!!!!
Oh wow.
What a wonderful thing to add to ones twilight years. "
********************
Now over £5,500,000....!!
His generosity is matched only by those who have donated.
Whatever individual amounts people have given, it matters not.
It's all positive.....!
Love is everywhere.

Yes he is amazing and very motivated. However there are many strong motivated people of our and younger generation as well.
A boy from my son's school has just completed a virtual Lands end to John O Grouts cycle in 7 days. He is only 12. Raised money for the NHS. There are many efforts being made by so many people to support others at these times. I just think it's a bit unfair saying that the younger generation are not the same as the war generation. |

No you are wrong, there are veterans from recent conflicts who have been awarded gallantry awards..
There are plenty of people in all walks of life who step forward and go beyond what us expected..
There is no 'golden generation' for such things Emma, we all live in our time and in this time there is selfless behaviour of the highest order every day by people in the NHS and the care sector..
That's not to take anything at all from Captain Tom Moore, he is a very special gentleman.. |

What does make me laugh is that not one person has gone mad on here that those soldiers were at his home to give him a guard of honour. I personally have nothing against it. However, it really was an unnecessary journey to his property and they are in close proximity to a 99 year old. Boris, who is now immune, was taken to Chequers and certain people were up in arms. Funny world. |

Wonderful man in his twilight years.
Going to get pelters for this......but would it be any different for an elderly gentleman who didn't have a military background? I really don't think that him being a veteran should have any importance. |

"Should be knighted before he's 100
Pity the Queen couldn't knight him and then hand him his telegram in person, really."
Thousands of people have signed a petition for him to be knighted. He is also being offered a ride in a two-seater Spitfire I believe and they are trying to organise a fly past for his 100th birthday. |

"Am amazing man , doing what he can .
A great example of a "doer" in a modern world of just "talkers""
Think that it's extremely unfair to call it a modern world of just talkers
Good and bad in every generation but fully agree that what he's done is awesome |

Let's hope just giving stop the rumours that they've made a lot of money out of it.
Think they've said they've made a donation but haven't come straight out and said of they've still made money and how much |
