I had the virus (mild) about 4 weeks ago and self isolated for 8 days. No symptoms since. Now my step-son has the symptoms, cough, feeling hot and a headache. Do I now have to self isolate for 14 days??? |

It's really hard to know but I'd cautiously isolate, as we're not certain of so much atm. You weren't tested earlier, so that infection is uncertain too.
I'd always assume that I was infected and then respond accordingly. The rest will be healthy.
You could check with the NHS too, for their opinion. |

How on earth do you know you had this virus if you didn't get tested. You could of had flu. |

More over, how are you a key worker yet don't know what to do? |

More over, how are you a key worker yet don't know what to do?" Might work in a shop or unblock sewers or fix the telephone line all key jobs but wouldn't necessarily know medicine. |

Then she would be an essential worker not a key worker
Besides everybody knows what you're supposed to do by now surely |

Unfortunately yes because there’s no way of knowing if you’ve actually had the virus unless you were tested. Also if your step-son is positive you can carry the virus on your clothes and other surfaces and then spread it to others. Best to be safe |

An essential worker and a key worker are exactly the same thing. |

Yes they are. There is a long list of trades and industries that cover key workers on the Gov website, which can from which children were still allowed to attend school.
And to answer the above poster, you can have the very specific and most widely reported symptoms of Covid-19 and so feel like it's very likely you had it. There are also NHS and 111 self - diagnostic tools, which tell you it's very likely. Nothing is certain without the tests and there are very few people outside of hospitals (staff or very ill patients) being tested. |
