Yes our area updates frequently, currently around 0.07% of the local population are confirmed as infected. |

Yes but its only reliable if people report in to the covid-19 app that they provide a link to. Statistics rely on people taking part so if it isnt changing up your way then maybe you need to get involved? |

Yes I do use every couple of days.
Does anyone else used the covid19 app to check in everyday, so they can gather info? I do, contact me if you want to know more about it as they want more people to join |

There seem to be a few of these around at the moment - seen at least two on social media.
There was some news late last week that the UK government had selected a product and that it was being rolled out in the NE later this week.
It's a good concept, albeit with a few obvious caveats, but unless the data we're providing eventually ends up on the desk of someone making policy decisions it's a waste of time. |

"I google it"
But you aren’t adding anything to the information if you just google it
Take part Emma, its free, takes 30 secs out of your day at the most and helps the country to know what’s happening, and it doesnt store any info about you sowhats stopping you? |

Taking part in using the covid 19 app gives the research team behind it the closest thing to real time information directly from the public and allows them to predict the rate of progress of the spread of the virus with much greater accuracy which allows them to plan where the best use of resources would be made |

My dad sent me the initial link, it takes about 2 mins to put in your health history and less than 30 seconds daily to report how you are feeling, as far as I can gather, it's just to help their research to gain info in your area, the more that do, the more info they receive, and the more they can gain! |

Oh.
I thought this thread was about the “Coronavirus In Your Area” articles where you can insert your postcode to see how many people are positive.
Although not completely accurate as it’s likely to be more. |

"I don't trust anything dear ol' Aunty says these days, so I wouldn't put too much store in any 'facts & figures' they might come up with."
That’s really helpful |

It's cr$p...
Put in Lancashire, it gives a figure but when you look at the area of Lancashire being from within Manchester to Cumbria around a 6th the area of the UK.
I have stopped using it, too vague and not area specific enough.
Higher population density area might be better. |
