Cheeseville, Somerset

I suspect house burglaries are down.

Tricky when everyone is at home.

All the pubs and clubs are closed and people on the whole are at home apart from the odd muppets who just don’t give a toss

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

I have a household family member who works in the MET; crime levels are way down, discounting those being given public order fines.

The reduced traffic on the roads also means that vehicles known to be involved in crime are being apprehended far more regularly.

Car theft hs dropped dramatically, from approximately 20 per day in most boroughs to just a few across the borough's and are limited to opportunistic theft rather than the mass orgaised thefts that were taking place..

Yet amongst this, stop and searches are still happening and people are still being caught carrying knives...

With the exception of the new coronavirus laws havent police been told not to arrest for low level offences?? As prisons are a super spreader and to decrease workload?

No not in law enforcement, but I do notice when crime goes up in an area of low population, its kinda hard to miss

I'm guessing that a broken shop window and only one person nearby narrows the suspects down significantly....

Down 20% across the board and violent crime down 40%. But a few Rozzers I know are medium term worried about social unrest.

Far too early to tell.

The 2020 edition of the BCS when it comes out may tell some very interesting tales, especially around online and domestic crime. There's probably a fascinating piece of work to be done around 'no criming' as well.

It should be down by now with more people staying home. But it could go up to higher than previous levels once the lockdown is lifted.

Domestic abuse increased somewhat and fly tipping as council dumps are presently closed

Don't know about UK but my colleagues in Lagos, they are seeing huge increase in crime, patents taking turns to stay awake at night to guard the house and scared to go to the supermarket in the day as armed gangs are robbing cars full of food. People are scared for their lives and running out of food, water and power.

VI is fine. Cameron Road, Four Square and Hubbmart are still open.

Diesel theft is on the rise and police are escorting tankers from Apapa.

I would guess that mainland Lagos it will be significantly worse especially at night.

Police are still accepting "something for there boys" if you get stopped.
