Hey let's hope he returns with a commitment to buck the trend his party had followed over the last few years and end the blatant underfunding of the NHS and be er again voted against pay rises for NHS staff.
Get well soon Boris. The NHS was there for you, you be there for them in future. |

Glad he is on the mend and i hope once this crisis is all over the Govt will look at pay structures across the board and the people who kep the Country running won't just get a pat on the back.
As far as Brexit goes surely that should be last thing on people's minds right now, we need 100% focus on getting through this crisis, then once the dust has settled start serious negotiations at full speed. |

In my opinion his sense of public service means he will rush himself back, which is what put him in hospital. On a selfish note; the country needs him now. Like him or not his is the right attitude to put a smile back on faces and belief back in our minds. |

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said he owes his life to the NHS staff who treated him for coronavirus.
In a short written statement, he said: "I can’t thank them enough. I owe them my life."
You can Boris, get writing a cheque, a bloody great big one and give it to the NHS.

Never been a Boris fan and always believed that his alleged intelligence has always been overestimated.
However ...
I think he has tried his best and his stock has risen in my estimation and i would not have wished him to die.
This could be his "Road to Damascus" moment, it sure as hell should remove any lingering (if they were there) Tory NHS privatisation thoughts from his head. |

After Brexit the salary threshold for skilled migrants will be lowered from £30,000 to £25,600 for those coming to the UK with a job offer.
But if an applicant earns less than the required minimum salary threshold - but no less than £20,480 - they may still be able to come to the UK if they have a job offer in a specific occupation which appears on the Government's jobs shortage list, or if they have a PhD relevant to the job.
This means lower earners such as nurses will still be able to apply for a visa, provided a shortage of staff in this area remain on the approved list.
The UK will be open to the entire world of skills not just the EU. |

My own thoughts is that dealing with Corona is going to need more state involvement than what tories traditionally preach. Market forces ain't gonna beat this bad boy. Plus Keir Starmer will slice and dice Boris over the issue.

I have not seen anyone say the only people who are at risk were those with underlying issues, but at greater risk, which is true, viral loading is also a very big risk to anyone.
The WHO produced figures showing the risk factors, as knowledge increase things will become clearer, latest idea is vit D helps fight it and pale skin helps, who knows but being clever in hindsight is easy.

I have not seen anyone say the only people who are at risk were those with underlying issues, but at greater risk, which is true, viral loading is also a very big risk to anyone.

1- Boris et al have decimated the NHS over the last decade or so while means we don’t have the resources needed now- ventilators, ICU beds, staff numbers PPE
2- Boris et al dictated here immunity therefore prioritising the economy over lives- he only shut schools after Ireland and Scotland forced his hand.
3- The testing and contact tracing aspect was a farce from day 1. Too little too late.
And let’s not forget the 2017 NHS pay rise that he voted against. ALso his party ignores recommendations following the 2016 pandemic drill. |

No we really really aren’t - he is convalescing on full pay in his luxurious second home. The poorest in our society will be trying to get better on no money (while waiting for the £93 a week ssp) while having to look after infected family and trudging round the shops for food they can afford.

No apparently as the PM his life has priority.
Supposedly only people being tested without being admitted to hospital were NHS staff. But Boris was tested positive before he was admitted. Imagine if he had just stayed at home untested like the rest of those souls who stayed home till it was too late to save them? |

Anyone that is discharged would potentially be discharged in to the care of a family member (at their address) or a care home and if discharged home it would be fine to have family go and stay. This is happening. And falls under looking after vulnerable people. There is no requirement to discharge someone from hospital to the same address they were admitted too
I'd also argue that it makes sense to remove Johnson from Downing Street so he can be allowed to recover without distraction.
There are plenty of reasons to slate Johnson but the fact he has been discharged from hospital to another address is not one of them. Pick your battles people |

Yes good point well made - I guess the point is that most people won’t have a second home fully catered and supported nor will they have no financial worries. How well people recover depends on their abilities to do so. We are not ‘in this together’ nor is it a great leveller which is another vacuous phrase being banded about. |

It makes sense to send him to chequers. Even though he is discharged, he is still going have to rest and recuperate. The flat above the shop is less than ideal for that. |
