"He said something stupid and has been suspended.
Am I missing something here?"
Yes the hypocrisy of those condemning comments from some politicians yet turning a blind eye to this and another comment from a labour councillor, why is he suspended and not already resigned, if Boris had said he would celebrate Corbyn dying he would have gone in five minutes. |

I hadn't heard of him until today.
He has said something stupid and has been rightly suspended and will probally lose his job.
I'm still at a loss as to why this is relevant? |

So it's now hypocrisy to not condemn something your unaware of?
Something which when you are aware of you agree is wrong..
OK.. |

They are gone, and neither are they leaders of a major party. It wasn't Corbyn or Starmer who expressed these opinions so I fail to see the point you are attempting to make. I'm sure that had any "liberals" been aware of this happening then they would have been as appalled as you are. Your only point in starting this thread was to do a bit of political shit stirring. Well done you. |

You're just using this to have a go at "liberals" I hate how that shite has spread from the U.S. to here. Like most people I don't know who you're talking about or the circumstances, bet I'm one of those "liberals" you hate though. Why don't you call people snowflakes while your at it, bet you're itching to.
And as for the story I can totally understand where the guy I've never heard of was coming from after some of the stories in the press, in particular one paper's front page stating Boris is out of IC and now it's a Good Friday (paraphrasing) on the very day that 980 succumbed to the virus. No it fucking was not a good Friday! And though I personally don't wish harm on the PM I do hold him and his party responsible for the current shit show due to their lack of action two months ago when closing the borders etc could have saved thousands of lives, so I totally understand why some hate him. |

Not missed
Just like Leeds councillor Julie Heselwood.- not as severe a punishment as the mayor/paralegal woman, but still had to issue an apology and Facebook post removed (and statement from Labour Party acknowledging she made a mistake ) |

James O’Brien was the only one I remember taking a photo of a snippet of the article in the paper and posting it on Twitter. If you search mrjamesob and “Prime Minister” then click “Photos” via the app, you should find it.

The sad thing about this thread was that when a poster expressed joy about Boris going into the icu he was roundly lambasted by everyone..
Some can't seem to accept that the vast majority of people whatever their politics are not complete idiots, there's a reflection within that perhaps..

I've seen the article. It's a quote supposedly made by DC at a private engagement at the end of February.
The Times reporter wasn't there, no one can remember where and when this private engagement was, and no one else has come forward to cooberate it.
Heresay at best. Unlike others that have made their thoughts very clear on social media. |

Why there are many people we dont like because of thier actions or opinions we dont wish any harm or ill feelings upon them. When a person wishes such actions then it spreads even more, soon there are sides spreading vitriol on vindictive actions and thoughts. Its much better to ignore them and think positive about those you do like and support.. |

Priti Patel is a cabinet member presenting the UK govt national briefing, what public office does headley hold? The ire towards Ms Patel is on account of refusal to take any responsibility and to dismiss the anger regarding PPE as unregulated personal emotions. I'm sure the families of the dead NHS staff would prefer to have family members alive instead of being dead heroes.
And to use the comment by this nobody as an excuse to condemn anyone who is protesting the Govt response is a bit of a stretch. |

"Still missing the relevance
Is cummings going to be sacked?
What did he say about Boris?
He said we should let old people die
Did he? Can you pull out the direct quote? I missed it.
It was in the times and reported widely
I will still need you to pull out the direct quote where he said 'we should let old people die'. If you can't I have no option other than to conclude you made it up, which you probably did.
No I didnt it make it up.
It was a story ran by the political editor of the times.
So there is no direct quote, you lied. Well done on using a deflection technique to take attention away from the true union beliefs
No. I didnt lie.
Try harder

Meh, I wouldn’t say it’s a lie, he just didn’t quote what was in the article word for word, likely due to not remembering.
“If that means some pensioners die, too bad” isn’t that different in my opinion. |

"He said something stupid and has been suspended.

Yes the hypocrisy of those condemning comments from some politicians yet turning a blind eye to this and another comment from a labour councillor, why is he suspended and not already resigned, if Boris had said he would celebrate Corbyn dying he would have gone in five minutes."
There seems to be wide range of people who you label "liberal" (as an insult).
"Liberals" are not one group with a hive mind.
Every person is an individual, and not everyone whom you would label as a "liberal" is a nice person. Some are arseholes.
Why is this not an obvious concept? |

What is even more bewildering is it being used an insult, even more so on a site for swingers. Fiscal Conservative in the streets, wanton liberals in the sheets.

"Cummings said “herd immunity, protect the economy and if that means some pensioners die, too bad”
Thats very different from celebrating if the PM died, it’s normal Tory thinking / policy to do things that result in poor and old people dying or suffering
Allegedly said. "
He could sue them if it wasn’t true, he knows , they know, the source heard him say it and several others who wouldn’t want a libel case |

The irony has gone over most peoples head, the description liberal is used against people as an insult because they often arent liberal, just the same as the "tolerant" are often the most intolerant. In this thread there is lots of what aboutery re Cummings alleged comments yet when any Tory does or says something that is criticised and then other people say well what about so and so saying this or that is just as bad all you hear is dont use what aboutery to deflect the original criticism.
It's a sad indication that a good few on here have called comments about wanting to see our prime minister die as "silly" or Ill advised.
Que more attacks instead of condemnation of the comment, bring it on says more about people than they want to admit |

I see, you were being ironic when you were using the term 'liberal' as an insult, not in the fox news/republican sense of the word. Good parsing there, well played. |

So you use "liberal" as an insult to people you perceive as not liberal for some reason?
That's a bit cryptic.

People have condemned the comment.
It’s obviously something very shitty to say. Most decent people would agree regardless of what they label themselves.
I’m just wondering how people you don’t know coming into your thread condemning it makes your life easier or better, or does anything for that matter? |

Op I think you posted it hoping that some would agree then you could feel all snugly in your righteousness about just how bad those liberals, lefties are in your perception..
Hence you waited till the thread had diverted into whataboutery..
You still have not explained the thinking behind it if that's not the case, just how can people rightly condemn something they are not aware of?

Honestly you're coming across as if you're attempting to justify your own strong feelings by projecting these onto others. Assuming that everyone that disagrees with you shares the same sentiment as this Mr Hedley is very anorexic thinking.
By way of counterpoint, I wouldn't assume that you or anyone that shares your views would agree with Rees Mogg's opinion that the Grenfell fire victims lacked common sense. |

I heard him on a radio interview a few years ago asking Nick Ferrari if he beat his wife, I think he was trying to make some connection to how his union members were being treated

It wasn't literal'liberal' liberals the OP meant, they said they were using the term ironically. So it wasn't really meant to be a dig at liberals at all.
I still think there was enough projection in the OP to keep a psychologist busy for a very long time. |
