Can you name someone who has died from Covid-19

In another thread someone said that they bet not many could name someone who had died.
Can you? (not literally name them).
It hit home even harder when it is someone you know so to keep this within a parameter it has to be family, friend, work colleague or neighbour, no friend of a friend, your favourite celeb, etc.
My Uncle died from Covid-19.
Have not seen him for a few years and he was in a care home suffering from Dementia so highly at risk.
Suddenly it does seem closer. |

Yeah I can, not a relative but a friend of the family passed away a few days ago. My sister and husband both tested positive, she is over the worst of it, he's still in the thick of it. So yeah, its all too real. |

No.
My brother had it (tested) and my sister and her family probably had it (not tested, but had the pattern of symptoms) but everyone was fine.
You're right... although I am taking it seriously, I don't think it will seem real unless/until someone I personally know died. |

My mother has (almost certainly) come down with it this week, 7 days after her and my Dad went to help their elderly next door neighbour who collapsed after being ill for several days. He was taken to hospital and tested positive for Covid 19 and my mother developed symptoms 7 days later. |

What does it matter whether you can name anyone or not?
The fact remains that there are literally thousands of people dying from this terrible disease and many muppets are not taking it seriously.
Three people in our immediate locality have perished from it, one in hospital and the other two didn't even manage to get that far and died at home! |

"The mum of a disabled guy I support. Use to see and chat to her regularly because she use to collect him to take him home on Sundays.
It's a sad loss. He still has to be told "
That is awful, and I suspect there will be thousands more situations as awful before this is done.
I don't know anybody close yet has died and hoping it doesn't happen but only time will tell.

My cousin last Thursday. 38 no health issues. Leaves wife & 2 kids
Gutted massively as we will get his ashes in a cardboard box when we’re able to go out. |

Two people I know have passed away due to Cv19. I have one person who is on a ventilator fighting for his life and another this his a high risk candidate. For me, it is a real life threat can't be ignored. |

Two of my sisters have had it also, one went to hospital & wound up on a ventilator other floored for nearly 3 weeks,
Engineer in our company’s daughters in ICU with it, guy in our office collapsed from it, a key worker at a local school, her partners father died from it.
It’s going on massively.
I hope it slows but the number keeps going up! |

My grampy last week
It really hit home how a virus has the potential to contribute to someone's death, it's made me a lot mode cautious about me not catching it in the first place. Everyone should be cautious in the first place, it shouldn't have to take a death of a loved one or someone you know for that to happen |

On the news,, Manchester police reported 1000 reports of parties, street parties and bbqs where clearly people invited people over as numbers were over 15. Disgusting behaviour as its not a jolly. On Average 800 deaths every day this week |

a quandary, could you change my mind? |
Well suspected virus was the last catalysis so yes , an aunt.
Also know various close people now who have had / do have the symptoms varying in intensity thankfully none admitted to hospital.
Must admit it's hard not to go and see a couple of them. Unfortunately they are not local. |

My mum died tuesday, hospital staff let mydad stay with her on the ward when they knew she wouldn't make it and he was really grateful for that. Now my dad has to self isolate for 2 weeks and cope with everything.
I wasn't close to my parents but do feel sympathy for him and gutted about my mum.
But yes people are catching it and dying. |

No idea if it's from the virus, but a carer who looks after the brother of one of my colleagues died recently.
Had a misunderstanding with someone on here who had lost a parent from it. I think we both thought the other wanted to meet physically.

100,000 per day? Over what region? I assume not the UK because the total number of deaths per day (from all causes for all ages) for England and Wales averages about 1,500 per day for this time of year. That's from the office of national statistics. I haven't looked up the equivalent for Scotland and Northern Ireland but they'd have depopulated by now if they made up the remaining 98,500 per day. |

Dont personally know anyone died or confirmed diagnosed. Given the symptoms I had in February my GP surgery "strongly suspect" I had it....including pneumonia and not just the incessant cough and temp above 39 for a number of days.
Put a note on my file to have antibodies test when available. Until then I won't know. |

Forums are for chatting no matter what your chatting about, other sections on this forum are for other subjects, I believe this section is about coronavirus and this thread is about knowing anyone who has died due to coronavirus, I mentioned my grampy it was no way a tribute to him but just saying who close to me died, that was all....also it's nice to talk to people about anything even if it is on a swingers site, someone to chat to can go along way with someone mental health.

Fab members are human beings (with a few exceptions it would seem) with families and normal day to day lives
It is totally appropriate for him to mention him here

Had a friend pass last night he did have some serious health issues though, will leave a big hole in my life.
But we know at least a dozen who have had it and only one other was poorly. Several have been tested as in NHS others with classic symptoms, it's not all bad news guys, for most it's not serious, |

The ONS website has a spreadsheet and it is pretty much 400,00 to 550,000 since the late 1800's, interesting to see this year. |

Family knows of 2 elderly friends who are gone. I know a funeral director through fab who’s currently conducting a number of burials which are covid-19 related on a daily basis. I also volunteer in one of the Manc hospitals and I’ve seen enough to know the daily tolls in this city, we are being told we are a week away from the peak in the Northwest so I imagine that will increase in coming days.

I would say this.... you are either choosing to be highly offensive to someone who has just experienced a death in their family or you are choosing to victimise someone who’s making a statement on here for what you believe is attention (if that was the case they’d obviously have some fairly major issues).
So, perhaps reverse your ‘no shit’ judgement approach on yourself... what kind of person attacks someone who is grieving or indeed someone with mental issues? Your levels of compassion either way set a new standard of low. |

know someone whos death has been classed as being because of covid.myself i not to sure that is the cause of death myself.yea he tested positive wich is the only thing to class it as a covid death. on the other hand he had cancer throughout his body and was told he had a few months left so was it covid or the cancer he already had that caused his death. |
