The Wimbledon tennis championships had pandemic insurance to protect themselves.

They were paying 1 million dollars a year for this and just been paid out 111 million due to cancelled the tournament this year.

Clever business or did they see this coming

Nice pay out! Probably just one of many things they're insured for.

Apparently everyone saw this coming....or could have done if they had looked at the incidence of previous pandemics. Just that most people/governments didnt bother to prepare.

We were "overdue" already. And this will certainly not be the last.

They are also insured for war and riots - so Ill wait for those before I answer this as insurance is just simply a legal bet against something happening.

It’s longer covered in new policies. Most global business saw this coming just didn’t know when, I mean it was predicted by many people after SARS and Ebola

Like others have mentioned, i doubt they took at an insurance policy that only covers for a pandemic. It would be an insurance policy that covers the majority of worst case scenarios.

Are you trying to start another baseless conspiracy theory with this post?

All local and national authorities prepare and plan for a pandemic at their monthly emergency meetings. I just think they took their eye off the ball or their plan was quickly seen to be unacceptable to the voting public...
