Sure. Another global depression, some industries changed forever or destroyed, rise in racism and distrust, probably an even further gap between rich and poor, loss of public services, rise of nationalism. Huge drop in quality of life. Political upheaval.
I don't know about anyone else, but I don't have the bandwidth to process that right now. |

I think people are creatures of habit and more will go back to the old normal on a personal level than we perhaps give credit to at the moment.
In terms of how we work, travel, shop, etc. I think there will be some long-term or even permanent change. The impact of Coronavirus have been so damaging to some industries/sectors, they’re either unlikely to recover or they’ll change significantly in order to survive. |

I hate to be negative but the reality is there will be a huge global recession, much worse the the last one a decade ago.
Millions of businesses won't exist anymore and millions more will have lost their jobs. Anyone that still has money won't be wanting to spend it and I suspect a lot of people will be hugely in debt after this as well. Its OK having a mortgage holiday or deferred payments but when this is over those debts will still need to be paid.
The public purse will be in dire straights and taxes will have to rise to pay for all this. That means everything will go up in price. Some countries (Italy, Spain) didn't have much money in the first place. France is already in recession and Germany is not far behind.
Happy Easter x |
