"Seems we are sourcing from the US but could of got them through the EU procurement scheme. The scheme we were offered to join but declined."
We could have and should have joined that scheme to give us further options.
However, they haven't managed to source enough so sadly it wouldn't have helped regardless |

We could also have manufactured 100,000 ventilators and kept them in storage for years, got them out and found out they all needed a full rebuild.
As per another thread, do you seriously think EU member states harder hit by this than the UK would have let the ventilators out of their country? |

Fake news.
Mario Ferrari resigned for political and economical reasons linked to the fact the Germany and France don't want "coronabonds" while Italy (his country) wants them.
Also most of the ventilators in Europe are produced by Germany and Italy and those that arrived from China are not faulty. UK is currently using hundreds of ventilators from China. |

No he didn't resign for that reason..
Where's your source for your claim that the a lot of the ventilators made in China are faulty? |

Who would of thought? Fake news! How surprising. It's a fact we are asking for ventilators from the US Also a fact, that the EU, offered us a place in the scheme. Bit off to offer us a place then deny us units?? |

From what I've just seen on the news he resigned and condemned their handling of the situation. Not quite sure what that means yet |

Ugh more arguing, eye swivelling and hand wringing. Since we failed the collective national iq test the country has slid further and further.
That said the eu has done noting to cover itself in glory.
Imagine how ruinous crashing out the eu and losing access to the single biggest market we serve will prove to a country trying to start repaying its way out of recession/depression.
It’s going to be awful. Forget 2008.

He resigned because of “the complete absence of co-ordination of healthcare policies among member states, the recurrent opposition to cohesive financial support initiatives, the pervasive one-sided border closures”
The timing suggests that the financial part was determinant. |

So many assumptions, spread the live perhaps..
Btw, your definition of keyboard warrior is a tad wrong.. |

Not moaning, stating a fact. 'Spreading the love' is all very well, but it isn't a free pass to cut your nose of to spite your face for those making decisions on such matters. |

Unless you sit at the top levels of government, you aren't going to know the full truths of what is going on.. most of it does not concern us and is totally irrelevant to the facts nd truth that are being handed out piecemeal so the population as a whole are able to understand the situation.
I'm sure governments here and abroad have far more important things of concern than mud slinging and whinging about others.. this of course excludes Donald Trump..
I'm sure that when Boris writes his memoirs, a lot of the back room information will be made available, as it will during the inevitable and pointless public enquiry that will happen and put scorn upon all those that have gone above and beyond at this time of need... |

You are not seriously suggesting Johnson, or anyone in his cabinet, have gone ‘above and beyond’?
Under and behind would be a fairer assessment. Does anyone know where Priti Patel is? You know, the Home Secretary? You’d think she might be visible at a time of crisis. Or maybe they have correctly judged that as her only visible skills are demonising immigrants and working secretly with a foreign power against the national interest, she’s better off furloughed just now. |
