"Hope every single person coming in is being forced into isolation for 14 days.
To protect them from us?"
To protect us from them they brought loads back and they just walked straight through Heathrow airport onto public transport without any tests ... I couldn't believe it |

I wish they did what Dubai Emirates flights have done, u check in 3 hours before go through the temperature check if of high temperature your simply not allowed on plane, rest passengers are being provided with full white overalls and masks and even getting sprayed with a antibacterial mist, plane cabins are being continually sprayed with antibacterial spray and automatic sprays on touch of lavatory handles , money talks for this country they are well high above rest in every field |

A bit of this a bit of that
Or do you think we should just let them back into the country without isolating first? |

The very few from every ethnic minority will isolate for 14 days, most think oh I ain't gonna get it and think it's just normal, but I know what I have to deal with in my daily job, crying patients, heart broken families on the phone every hour, will he or she survive or u got a patient, am I gonna die, oh please I don't want to die I'm scared of death, it leaves u heart broken, I'm glad I have my own PPE easing pressure on rest supplies, but still we can catch it, I just wished people took it serious then just standing in supermarket queues to just no important items which I have witness my self, |

Yes. It was done the same in Poland after lockdown. Every person who has returned to Poland on flights organized by the government must go through 14 quarantine days. The same principle is when someone returns to Poland on their own by car. |

I think that's what we should have done from the get go. Bit late now to stop the virus coming into the country when we have 50 000 known infections and unknown untested.
If that person is coming from Israel for instance who have had 65 total deaths so far, that person has more chance of getting COVID-19 from us than giving it to us.
Actually the problem comes from the fact that we don't have enough tests. It's been the problem all along. We are fighting a war without weapons. |

Yes it's awe full if your not gonna fly please at least inform passengers before, they have enough stress on them at it is as these airlines are charging £600 -£1400 on top of their £645 return flight just to make money it's disgrace and people are paying it as they desperate to get back to uk

I'm all for quarantine. As an island all we needed was to control the inward bound arrivals.
A stitch in time saves nine. It's a bit late now. |

You’re lucky you’re allowed to wear your own PPE.
Where I’m working, anyone who wears a higher level of PPE than the other staff are being reprimanded and told to stick to seasonal flu level PPE (standard surgical mask, white apron, disposable gloves) otherwise to leave!
To think the madness of it all!! |

Wtf, they need to get a grip on this.
The MOD should be handling the airports incoming, what the hell are they doing?
Heard another NHS worker died at home, the family tried to get an ambulance but no response.

I've lost 16 people in my local community who have died from this virus without any underlining health conditions and it's shocking
Worse as I've mention in a post before mother who travels from over seas to settle life in uk, gives to baby daughter last week and next day u find out the mothers critical on a ventilator as she's catched the virus from with in the hospital, her left lung has collapsed and others bad too, what chances has she got,
Another case father passes away last week and today the sons passed away after being discharged from the hospital at home and we haven't even hit peak yet,
I just pray for all those that are ill and in the virus fighting illness to pull through

Yes I heard about the Nhs worker ambulance arrived late
Yes at this crucial time as long as u got PPE on they are ok with it as they are struggling with it, loads are getting donated to hospitals too and all of which are different, don't forget as u go round to each patient u have to put a new one on, I usually wear 24 through my shift , that's masks, gloves, overall over and apron, |

What astounds me is the the argument against preventing this all from happening is that "people would have been bored at home"
We would always have had some cases but with the correct preparedness and the correct policy things wouldn't have been this bad. |

It's an awful time, and I have nothing but respect for your work at the sharp end.
But, today people are sunbathing, playing football in groups, 9 people in a house that backs onto ours had a bbq, after buying it today. Would have reported them but didn't fancy all my windows broken
If we had locked down 2 or 3 weeks earlier it would have been even worse with people flouting the rules.
Some people have little respect for authority and their respect reduces the longer they have to obey. |

"Thank u all for sharing my post forums but I just felt it was important and share this with u all "
Thank you for giving an insight into your world. I feel very humbled by what you are doing. Words do not express the debt of gratitude our nation owe you.
Make sure you protect yourself. You are going through a very emotional process. Make sure you have a good support structure. We might be a bunch of bitchy sqlabblers but we are good for lending an ear, problem shared. Problem halved...
Good luck to your friends getting back safely. |
