with the amount of fluid in there it was making a few things happen...

a) temp spiking....

Boris has been bitten in the ass by covid 19, I'm quite sure he will apologise (after he has recovered) for his statements he made about Britain taking it on the chin and failing to do what was necessary sooner. He has now experienced it for himself so I can assume more restrictions with the lockdown soon.

Did anyone notice Lord Bath has died, it seems no one has noticed. What a charismatic and an extraordinary man, he contracted covid 19. For many years I'd always thought he'd go in some eccentric daring way. Like water skiing from a high speed boat or bungee jumping from a hot air balloon. Just like he lived his life, full of colours and passion. He lived his life enthusiastically and had quite the open mind.

I see this entire thread being deleted because people couldn’t take helpful directions on the rules.

Sounds familiar and endemic... which takes me back to the topic of the thread.

I am very concerned by the PM being taken to ICU. Thankfully it is reported that he’s not required to be on a ventilator but they’re keeping him close to one.

Not had COVID-19 but been in ICU with pneumonia. I had one of what they call the less intrusive ventilators , a bit like a astronauts helmet on for 5 days.

Believe me it's scary in there being awake....but I'd sooner it was that way and not the intrusive ventilator, were you put to sleep as in that 5 days I seen a lot not wake up and then the porters came closing the curtains around me.

When I asked the nurse why they kept closing the curtains she said...to protect you from seeing them taking them away.

I was that ill that it took awhile for the penny to drop.

So while I'm on the left side...I hope he gets the astronauts helmet and comes out of this

Ps we dont want dominic rabb running the country do we

Where do you get that stay from?

I can’t rem_mber where I read it, but it said 49.9% recovered, 50.1% died, so,far..

My friends partner is currently in intensive care with covid. He’s very much critical. Kidneys started to shut down and he has sepsis. He is still fighting, lungs being drained and needing less oxygen but still intubated.

I watched my partner die years ago in itu, and while it was one of the worst times in my life, I can’t imagine not being there with him/for him, just horrific x

I wish your friend a very speedy and strong recovery, my thoughts are with anyone with this virus.. My condolences regarding your partner, it couldn't of been easy

Thank you lovely, that’s very kind. We hear worrying news and then very small improvements. No change today, he’s still fighting and has lots of people willing him better. X

This isn't the time nor the place to stir up Political hatred or score Political points.

What the majority of people are doing from all walks of life, is to wish Boris as speedy a recovery as possible in order to return to his post.

That's what we all need, regardless of what we think of him and who he represents.

Very worrying, they don't put people in to ICU as a precaution, or on the advice of their medical team or because they are the PM. They put people in ICU because they need maximal levels of care.

I wouldn't wish this on anyone even Johnson regardless of my views on him amd on a human level my thoughts are with his family(ies) at this time and I hope he recovers fully and quickly.

And on a purely pragmatic level the last thing that the country needs right now is to lose its prime minister.

The insinuation that someone who listens to grime is not educated is hideous. Or those in the grime scene are uneducated is one I take massive issue with. Think you need to look at artists like Akala or Lowkey they have both spoken out on the topic of racism and the remarks previously made by the PM to condemn his views. But I would expect both those people are wishing him a speedy recovery. To say educate yourself seems to me that you agree with the remarks previously made if you see no wrong in them

Compassion is also a quality that this man has not extended to certain sections of society and I think it’s absolutely fair that they may be indifferent over his current situation. I’m not spreading hate; I admit, I responded angrily but given the implications of the response to my post, I’d say fairly.

Racist is a strong word their is no implications of my response to be had it was a flippent remark aimed at someone who's using a the word racist so flippent. I still suggest you educate yourself as you clearly been led down the wrong avenue but looking at your age and straight out of uni I think it's clear what avenue you reside on ."

You do realise that Johnson has referred to black people as 'piccaninnies' and having 'watermelon smiles????' How much more evidence of a lack of racial awareness at the very least do you need?

Repeats the phrase "educate yourself" yet your comment is full of grammatical and spelling errors. Jesus wept.

Clear from the tone of your post to see your stance on black people. Obviously we must all be uneducated.

I ju-

I can’t tell if you’re trolling or not? I’m not using the word racist flippantly. He’s quite literally said racist things. And don’t backtrack about the meaning behind your remark about me listening to Dave or Stormzy, we know how you meant it, ‘init’. You know, life experience and reading have led to the understanding I have, of course I still know very little, there’s so much knowledge still to gain, but I don’t think my age is an indicator of me not being educated enough to have an opinion on this topic. I mean you’re forty years of age and have shown yourself to be in desperate need of educating.

I always think that one of the most crass and unnecessary things you see on fab is when an RIP thread descends in to abuse. While not an RIP thread this one is just awful.

Compassion costs nothing. Hate never negates hate. Hate never beats hate. Whatever happened to be kind?

I refuse to be forced into a hagiography for someone who has contributed to the horrific position we are in now. My compassion for him as a fellow human being knows no bounds and I hope he turns a corner very quickly.

You are right compassion costs nothing. That's why the words "Let the old people die" are words that should never be uttered. Seeing a picture of of a young boy being treated on a hospital floor is something that should break anyone's heart. Perhaps those who thought that the ill should be given seats and not beds should reconsider their words when it comes to having no compassion.

I back you on your comments of the individuals stance towards black people I truly do. As a white person born in the UK I am privileged to have not been on the receiving end of racism. But I have lots of black bothers and sisters who have. Both people born here and also people who moved here. I have a massive issue with racism and those who use or those who deny that certain remarks are not racist. And then call other uneducated.

I would say though spelling and grammar aren’t the signs of education. I’m dyslexic so my posts could be pulled apart loads. Doesn’t take away from the points I make right or wrong or show people my level of intelligence and schooling. Is my only point in the interest of remaining balanced

Whilst i dont wish boris any ill will i do have to disagree with anyone who says a ventilator should be reserved on standby for him in case he needs it because hes the PM.

Im sorry but if someone needs that ventilator and cant have it because its reserved for possible use leading them to pass away i would find it unacceptable.

Everyone has an equal right to life and being PM shouldnt give you more right than anyone else.

No hospital is under pressure yet with ventilators. He isn’t taking one or preventing anyone else from having one.

well according to a medical officer no one goes into intensive care unless it is absolutely necessary. I don't think we have been given the full facts re. The PM at all today. I think he was actually worse than what they've been letting on

There are many times I would’ve loved to have seen this compassion from Boris himself but alas...

my point is you don’t HAVE to show compassion to those that are unwilling, and have displayed themselves to be unwilling, to show it towards you. Especially if they’ve also said harmful things that affect you. There’s no moral superiority gained from wishing this man well. I just want people to know that.

Certainly seeing some peoples true colours over this time and some people are... basically lack compassion and empathy basically the opposite of what any of us want on here.

Really worried about Boris. Fingers crossed he'll be okay, may have overworked himself and not taken good care of himself whilst trying to help the rest of us. He'll be getting the best health care and Fingers crossed we'll know more tomorrow ????

Fake news there was benches and a trolley in the background, so why did his mother put him on the floor. Bloody hell she could have held him on her lap, but that wouldn't have been a good photo shot.
