Seem to see a lot of people saying that people should not be out running. We are still running, we stick to the back streets and cross the road or take a very wide berth if we do see anybody. I dare say that there are some who aren't taking precautions but exercise is important both mentally and physically. |

I'm still running regularly and being overtly respectful of social distancing.
I'll slow down or stop if I see a situation where it could be considered unsafe.
Astonished that people are still letting their dogs off the leash. Runners are nice targets for playful mutts. |

We are still working, but as the gyms are shut, we are going most nights. Luckily, we have some dumbbells laying a out as well for garden workouts. The battle is trying to avoid the naughty food, oh, and the cold beers in this weather! |

I think people don't take him seriously. Anyone who does not conform to social norms is often ridiculed ..
Why do people do this.. to seek acceptance in my opinion.. I remember the Terry Wogan interview.. |

What you have to remember with all these conspiracy theorists.....there bank accounts are all rather large. Tommy Robinson, case in point. Not a conspiracy nut, just a racist who doesn't actually care about this country. Loves spreading hate because he makes an awful lot on money doing so. David Icke is worth a bit I'd bet, clever business man more than anything. |

With the better weather I have been out cycling regularly. Just been furloughed so I will welcome the chance to be out when I want, not when work think I should or shouldn’t be.
However, I will be cycling on my own and doing my best to stay well upwind of others as the guidance says keep a lot of distance fore and aft. |

I'm still running. I'm lucky to have trails nearby so can in the main avoid people. Forecast is good today so will run this evening as its obvious people will be out during the day.
There seems to be a growing tendency to divert blame from the government handling if this on to those doing nothing wrong. See also the government attacking premiership footballers |

So a few dick heads go to the park to sunbathe and a whole nation can't exercise outdoors? We just cam back from a run and avoided going near a soul, run in the road and down side roads. |

Just got to be aware to observe the social distancing.
Unless you're symptomatic or in your isolation week, in which case, stay tha fak home!

I run daily ...mind you I live in countryside so no ones out here. Thing is if your away from people at the social distance then why not as your not harming anyone therefore no ones gonna end up in the hospital because of you , which s the reason for lockdown is in place ...you may sprain your ankle tho lol |

Nothing wrong with running at all! If anything, I think this has encouraged more people to get out running.
I feel bad for all those avid gym goers who are now only allowed to exercise outside once a day. That must be tough.

I've been doing my daily outdoor exercise...normally running now but previously walking. I live in the city but will go on the streets with wide pavements and will run on the road to avoid people to keep a distance. I hope they don't ban outdoor exercise as it would be a shame for us who are following the rules about it.
Just starting to get fitter and getting back in shape and was hoping to continue that |

I'm running daily. It's nothing I wouldn't normally do, I run cross country so see fewer people and I take appropriate precautions.
Of more concern is the amount of teenagers who are clearly meeting up to spend the days out with their friends in groups while there's no school |

Got two reminders recently why we are being asked to keep exercise short.
The day before yesterday there was a loud pop from the front tyre of my bicycle. Got an instant flat. While going downhill. Slowly.
The day before that, I'd gone down a hill quite fast.
Yesterday I went running and hopping over a stile felt my foot slip a bit on the wood. So that could've been another one... |

I was awake last night thinking about this running thread and worrying. It's not the social distancing that worries me but the likelihood of having a fall and nobody finding you. Please take sensible precautions folks. If alone, tell somebody your route and expected time back so the alarm can be raised to the emergency services. |

Fully agree with this Tom.
Whilst the minority seem to be intent on spoiling it for the majority (meeting in parks etc) you are also correct that even if outdoor exercise was stopped, it still wouldn't stop the idiots from carrying on. Have seen groups of kids out & even a BBQ up the road from me with several attending who obviously don't live there in the last couple of days. |

I've got nothing against people going for a run, and I can also understand that gym members have got to find an alternative - it's just that there has been a noticeable explosion in the number of joggers out and about, and the whole point about the 'Stay at home' message is to prevent the spread of this thing and the more self-disciplined we are, the less time we'll have to to do it for. |

The vital aspect of life today is to keep a 2 metre distance from people who you don't live with. If you are walking, running, crawling etc outside and retaining this distance then it's not of greater risk. If we believe we are infected, it would be wise to isolate at home, getting exercise there, though if living alone and very isolated, I'd see it as reasonable to venture out, for health purposes, with extreme distances from others.
People are projecting their internalised emotional and psychological baggage on to others, as they are unwilling to confront their own selves, finding it easier to scapegoat and bully. |
