"Nobody it’s all Propoganda same as the most vulnerable getting letters earlier than that ?? They didn’t get one either??" my bother in law has copd and is on the vulnerable list and he had his letter on Tuesday, so if they are entitled to one they should have by now, if not probably worth contacting their GP.

"I think this is two separate letters we are talking about here isn't it??"
Yes. There is one letter that is special instructions for those at extreme risk, basically a "you're grounded" notice based on health condition.
Then there is boris's six million pounds vanity project to send a generic letter to every single household in the uk, which is an abject and utter waste of money because the text of the letter has already been published online, on tv, radio and every newspaper. Some will say that it's a nice gesture because it shows the government is thinking about you, after all there's nothing better that the money could be spent on - oh hang on, how much PPE can you get for six million quid?
I've no doubt that the boris letter seemed like a good idea to whichever idiot of a government spin doctor suggested it (bit of an ironic job description there, but i digress...), but i hope that the concept has quietly been dropped. |

Totally 100% in agreement
Definitely or gone to help people in financial difficulty like Richard Branson or another billionaire unwilling to dip into their personal fortune's to save their employees.
Or maybe poor premiership footballers who have been asked to take. 25% wage cut poor loves.
( Sorry about the sarcasm at the end not aimed at you in any way) |

From what I’ve been lead to understand, they’re coming out as a door 2 door, much like the ubiquitous farmfoods or dominos leaflets. They should be delivered early next week, Monday and Tuesday is RM’s aim |

But none-the-less it will £6M quids worth of the message hitting home (and one day yours might be the only surviving letter your grandchild appears on today’s equiv of the Antiques Road show in 3030!) |

Hopefully they don’t get sent out! It’s just a lot of extra work for us posties in an already pressurised situation due to sick absence as that is very high + everyone is ordering parcels ?? now we’ll have to deliver a letter to every house to say that there is something called coronavirus out there. You’ve done well if you haven’t heard of the thing until now! |

This!
Sadly mine arrived today. Can I apologise to all posties everywhere on behalf of the public, it is extra work for you all just when you're already overwhelmed. But I don't think that any of us asked for the boris letter, in fact i bet it wasn't even boris's idea, probably some idiot publicity person.
Posties, you are all doing a brilliant job under the worst of circumstances, thank you!! |

Think we are all pretty frustrated we are lucky we’ve still got a job where many don’t currently.
But the fact we are constantly getting more put on us each day by management expecting us to do more and more because more are off sick etc.
Also delivering stupid leaflets for shops that aren’t even open! Extra risk all for a company to keep making huge profits. |

"Got ours today what a waste of money, nothing in that's not on the TV every hour. Sure they could have found something better to spend our money on."
It's not so much just a letter - it's a coming together in a common understanding by having a sense of personal belonging to the fact that you have been addressed in person as a citizen of the United Kingdom to a common cause.

You missed the big words at the bottom?

Yes mother got hers this morning this followed a call from her gp last week telling her due to her being in heart failure she’s grounded for 3 months.
Her monthly blood tests, the dr was delighted when mum said ‘my daughter is qualified to take bloods’ ive to collect items and a little yellow bucket next week.

I know that’s why I said I’m lucky to still have a job and money coming in.
Just find it ridiculous I’m taking things to every house for places that aren’t even ope! Surely it’s putting ‘us’ in an extra unnecessary risk at catching this thing?!
I just hope I am delivering to some people on here haha would be nice to know who I am though |

I got my letter from the Prime Minister today.
"From the start, we have sought to put in the right measures at the right time."
And they didn't, they haven't and they know they haven't. They did nothing at all, all through February. Four weeks ago the Prime Minister was telling everybody to "take it on the chin" and boasting about going out shaking people's hands. In countries where they'd already had outbreaks they knew and doctors here knew that this was the most stupid, suicidal thing you could possibly do.
Now he's in hospital. I would like just one day when I didn't see a lie from the Prime Minister. |

My daughter who’s 15 said to me today about how Anne frank hid from the nazis and wrote a diary. She said “ mum that poor girl hid for 2 years. We have our freedom and people are complaining.
She’s decided to write her own diary documenting from the beginning to when this ends. She’s kept the letter and it will one day be a huge piece of history. |

I suggested that my daughter wrote a diary but she wasn't interested. You're right though it will be a great piece of history. |
