No matter what the reality is of the actual virus, you can bet things will be leveraged later in the year as the mid term elections are approaching.

Weve been in Vegas since 28Th December, jumping on a cruise tomorrow.

Unlike UK its not wall2wall Covid news. People are wearing masks where its mandated (Casino floor etc) but by pools and at parties none to be seen.

Generally they appear to have the attitude.....Omicron is a cold....no more no less.

Its about the same as the UK percentage wise from what I see - that's number of cases I mean.

Deaths are higher but that's due to less people vaccinated I believe.

Been in Florida a few days now. Once out of the airport it’s like covid doesn’t exist. Occasionally you’ll see people wearing masks but that’s it. It’s all business as usual. Plus the weather is mint!

Las Vegas

Just back from Vegas n la, it's not as bad as UK but they are kinda behind us so I'd guess it will get worse in next few months then better again..most bars etc are still open but need mask to go in but can normally remove it, some venues require vax..but accept UK one fine...no one can really tell 6 months ahead but I'd book stuff that can be refunded

Its as bad as you want it to be. Dont watch the news and you seem to forget about it

If youre really worried about it, stay home and dont visit

I travel all over the country for work. Almost 140k air miles accrued last year. Each state has different protocols. Even different town to town or county to county. In Florida we have virtually no restrictions. Those who choose to wear a mask wear them. Those that don’t, well they don’t.

Don’t believe everything you hear on the news. In my travels I’ve seen time and again the obvious propaganda. It’s here to stay. As the hype dies down and the politics are removed it just a nasty bug.

If you are vaccinated and boosted you can pretty much go on your way as usual. In the north, you’ll likely have to show vaccination cards to get into restaurants and venues. In the south, pretty much they don’t care. What’s really ridiculous is the number of republicans (about 55%) who are vaccinated versus democrats (91%). 3 Republicans are dying for every one democrat. What a smart thing republicans are promoting as the expense of losing more members of their party. This was reported on NPR https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2021/12/05/1059828993/data-vaccine-misinformation-trump-counties-covid-death-rate. Of course Republicans will just say it’s fake news. HurraY for you, let’s make those purple stAtes solid blue again!

Well, if you follow QAnon, you don’t believe there is

Covid, so I guess there is no reason to get vaccinated…

My 41 year old nephew who spent 12 weeks in the hospital (he was an antivaxxer) with Covid seems to have changed his mind about vaccines, though his lungs/life have been destroyed.

Here is a quote from his Facebook:

We enjoyed our time up north together, it was a

greatly needed change of scenery. Chris continues

to gain strength. He was able to reduce some of his

heart meds and will go back for more follow up tests

in March. We all feel like his voice is getting stronger

over the past couple days but it's still "not back".

Trusting God to provide healing to his throat and

vocal cords. We are trying to adjust to the many

changes that our household now has to adapt to.

Each day I am faced with the choice to give my

anxieties to God or to live in a place of fear of

"impending doom". Our family has gone through

many life changing events over the past few years...

each one seems to change me in some ways. I've

been given the opportunity to draw nearer to Christ

for my strength and reminded that HE holds my

future, He is my only hope.

Of course, you will just think this is fake news…

Not sure where you are hearing that. But it is absolutely bull. Covid doesn’t make people sick based on politics. It doesn’t care if you are vaccinated or not. I know people that have had the vax and gotten sick. And even some vaccinated who have died. I know people who have not had the vaccine and have yet to get sick. I know people on both sides (vaccinated and unvaccinated ) that have had it and they have fully recovered. They are across political spectrums. Someone asks a legit question and they get political rhetoric. That’s awesome.

And not sure how it is where you live but vaccination status does not limit you in this part of the United States.

Washington DC requires proof of vaccination for almost all public places (restaurants, gyms, events, etc) and the same for NYC. Many businesses outside of those areas require proof of vaccination. I admit this is in the north, but NYC is a major destination so it’s worth realizing you need proof of vaccination if you are going to visit.

Vax cards being required in a few of the major northern and west coast cities to dine out and such is also what I’m hearing. The vast majority of the country does not require anything.

I'm in Oregon at the moment, masks are mandatory everywhere and you need to get an antigen test no more than 24 hours before flying
