Looks like the decision to open up to the UK is going to be on the 8th November, just bought our tickets to arrive for Thanksgiving, incidentally tickets were half the price we paid the last time we went which was a pleasant surprise. Long overdue trip to see family can’t wait. |

The last time we went was Christmas 2 years ago and we paid nearly £2k for 2 tickets, as Thanksgiving is a more popular holiday in the US we expected them to be more this time, but certainly not complaining. |

I just paid for my parents to come over just before THanksgiving until January 8th. Was 1500 quid for both of them with all seat upgrades etc |

Under £500 each this time for us, direct from Heathrow, quite happy with that, and very much looking forward to seeing the family and some some thanksgiving feasting |

"Ah a perfect storm, open up flights to and from the US right in the middle of the flu season, just dandy."
Ah yeah because we have never travelled during flu season in the past. Odd statement |

And like last September, when we travelled to the Maldives, long haul nearly 24 hours travelling via Qatar and Male, we will observe all the guidelines and rules in an attempt to carry on with life, which includes us already having had our booster jab, and our flu jabs, like we have every year, our PCR tests are booked for Friday afternoon as we fly on Monday, and we have received our LFT tests to take on our return and hopefully we continue to stay COVID free as we have up to now existing in this strange new world we live in. |
